Haha, yeah. Sometimes I spend all 日 trying to find a name for one character in my story. It's hard to not re-use the names I picked, since I like them so much. But every character is different, and should have different names. But I am using two names, from a short story I wrote and I am using them in the novel I'm writing. Names can me tough.

What's tough about it, though? Do the names have to mean something, do they just have to sound right, 或者 do 你 find that 你 can't continue 写作 without the final character name?
Everyone of my characters names have to be dead on. A name is so important because it gives 你 the sense of a character before 你 meet them. 你 have to get the sound of the name to match their personality and looks in my view and it can take ages to get it spot on.
For example, a shy girl with doe eyes. I'd try to think of a soft name that flows easily, that gives 你 a sense of peace. For a strong character you'd need a strong name.
Sometimes I go on the internet to look at what different names mean, to give them a hidden element. Example, the name Salvatore means saviour so I'd use this name for a hero.
Myslef I like unusual, 幻想 old fashioned names and try to avoid common names like Nia and Katie (nothing wrong with them but it's just not my style). So yeah, sometimes it takes some time to think of the perfect names, but a lot of the time it just comes to me out of the blue when my mind is in a relaxed state.
