Do 你 think that writers should be avid readers?

Not neccessarily, I think it depends on the person.

That's how I became a writer:
Studying my 最喜爱的 authors' works and meshing their 写作 styles together to create my own. Not everyone works that way, though.

They don't HAVE to be. If 阅读 helps 你 come up with techniques 或者 ideas, then sure. But some get techniques and ideas from their own mind.

Yes. 你 constantly gain ideas.

It depends on the person. But I think it helps learn new words and better grammer. It also inspires ideas if your careful not to steal. But no, they don't have to be.

I think it helps. I personally am an avid reader and I think it helps with my writing. But I don't think in order to be a writer 你 must be a reader.

In general it depends on the person but sometimes they are interchangeable. personally i was a bigger writer than reader for a long time in a matter fact it wasn't till the last 年 and a half 或者 so that i actually began 阅读 committedly i've read 更多 than ever believed possible for me i read Dracula, the invisible man, the legend of sleepy hollow, A series of unfortunate events the austere academy and 快门 island in the last 3 months. That may not sound big to a lot of 你 but it was huge for me. Ordinarily something thick like Dracula would take me a 月 but it took me just a few weeks.
阅读 does help at times and is great to help 你 look at other 写作 styles. and can give 你 inspiration as well i got an idea from the invisible man that i thought was a good idea

Yes, I think it's necessary. I haven't met 或者 even heard of a writer that doesn't read anyway.
