I agree, recoloring over someone elses artwork isn't art, even if 你 give permission and recolor well. Because the entire thing isn't yours, and wasn't made 由 you, and neither was the orignal picture. No matter what a recolorist does to change the picture, it still is the original picture

I will not 评论 nor flame 'bout them, as long as they do not claim it as their own. And if it ain't original Sonic X art 或者 SEGA shit, no credit is given/claim it as theirs, I cannot, and will not, just turn away. End.
i don't mind if somebody recolors, as long as they give credit for the original art, and gets permission from the artist to do so. a good way for beginners to start drawing characters is to use lineart it's the same as recoloring a pic from sonic x except your allowed to color it. =) the best place to find those are on deviantart.com. i don't usually use them but i know people who do!
I agree 101% with Mephiles. Recoloring is art theft, unless 你 give credit to the original maker, but hardly any of the recolorists do so. Why don't 你 just draw your character? That isn't recoloring 或者 art theft. Then 你 wont have people spamming 你 and cussing at 你 and calling 你 names. So what if 你 "can't draw"?! If people hate the picture, then they shouldn't have clicked on it. I don't care about recolors. They mean less than nothing to me. Recoloring is not art. It's art theft, and 你 can get in some serious trouble with that. Draw. Don't recolor. And if 你 continue, go the the sopt Sonic Fancharacters (Recolors Are Allowed. I think you'll be much happier there than here.
I believe recoloring from websites like deviantart, fanpop, and sheezyart, are bad because those pictures are created 由 deviants and whatever 你 wanna call them on 潮流粉丝俱乐部 and sheezyart, but it doesn't seem fair to recolor them because they worked hard to create just one picture! I say either recolors are eliminated from here fanpop, deviantart, and sheezyart. 或者 I have two other options, either 你 ask the person if your allowed to eit their artwork, 或者 use it in a club, 或者 I suggest people make their own artwork, this is for all the jerks who recolor from fanpop, deviantart and sheezyart! But from a company like SEGA since they don't give a shit, I think it's okay to recolor their artwork.

你 can't Judge anything without trying do 你 know how much the artist practice in drawing sketching coloring shading? And how much 你 spent on recoloring? 你 can't say idk how to draw learning a new thing needs Patience and insisting there are tones of help in DA just try!! And try to be nicer on fanpopers...

A tiny, insignificant human. There are 4 options for you. 1. Give credit to the original artist. 2. Use lineart. 3. Draw your own pic, no matter how bad 你 are at drawing. Ignore what everyone thinks and stick to your own opinion. Trust me, honey, I know because I do this all the time. :P 4. Go take drawing lessons and/or go see a therapist.
Well... i do colour overs. It is kind of stealing, but not when 你 give credit. And what if 你 cant draw, 或者 dont know how to put pics on the computer? some people dont wanna ask others to make one up for them.

no it's not! 你 have to ask permission from the user if it's from here fanpop, deviantart, 或者 sheezyart. 或者 你 should draw your own pictures.
well heres my stry of it: recolors i use to make them in a 日 before..............but i regrat it cause now i understand that anyone can make a character but the thing i dont like is when u steal actual art from a good artist its not a big deal if u just recolor the sonic 显示 and credit them and find other pics of them and credit but actual art is a big deal they could sue u and put u in jail for stealing art its like takeing your own stuff without ppl asking u permission and i agree with mephiles its not a way of art its almost like someone stealing ur own game without asking someone to barrow it if u recolor the 显示 its fine but stealing ACTUAL ART!?!? WHEN U REALLY WEARNT ASKING PERMISSION TOO!? ARE U NUTS!? i still cant draw that good but come on really!? and awesome_chick u need to stop stealing grits the hegehog 或者 u will find yourself baned if u get yourself a deviantart account >:( so thats why i hate recolors now peace out yall and also u can practice drawing on hand 或者 computer 或者 use bases drawing takes practice to get good but not recoloring its bad i tell u really! so plese dont recolor
Everyone has a different way of viewing recolor, Some think recolor is good, some think recolor is bad but it all makes it different with "Credit"
with original pictures 你 have full credit of it but with recolors 你 dont just the person who owns it has the credit and probably wouldnt take it good if he 或者 she found out hey...
Use a base its 更多 better cause 你 do have your credit without upsetting a person who made the art and probably took 更多 they 5 days to make it when recolors can just happen in one small hour...its not hard to atleast try a base 或者 practice free hand...it improved me.
