Hella Heaven: Luxurious brands "Made in China"?

I bought two veryyyyyyyyyyyyy expensive Tommy Hilfiger jackets one from nearest Tommy Hilfiger store and the another from Amazon. Both of my 夹克 says *Made in China*

It's a NewYork clothing brand then why they are getting the clothes made in Chinaaaaaaa? Urghhhhh!!!!

It’s because 你 didn’t buy a luxurious product from a luxurious brand.

Tommy Hilfiger is a designer brand, sure, and their products are 更多 expensive than a no-name 夹克 at any run-of-the-mill store, but they aren’t really a “luxury” brand.

A luxury brand is something like Versace- their products probably take months to 设计 each and are painstakingly crafted in Italy with immaculate attention to detail. Consequently, their cheapest products are probably 更多 than triple the price of the jackets 你 purchased. Their products are 更多 art than they are clothes.

And Tommy Hilfiger isn’t really like that. They have an entirely different brand image- one that’s focused 更多 around the image of an upper-middle-class sporty American. And that’s not a bad thing 由 any means- it’s just not luxury-oriented.

Their clothes are still mass produced, and since it’s so expensive to make things like clothes in the United States, they chose to go to China where it’s a lot cheaper to make the exact same product.

And that isn’t really a bad thing. Just because something was made in China doesn’t mean it’s poorly made, contrary to 流行的 belief. If the 夹克 had been made in the United States, it would have been noticeably 更多 expensive for no real discernible increase in quality to most people.
