Here is what I think.

The North Koreans practice a method of gaining power that is commonly referred to as brinkmanship. The idea behind brinkmanship is to push things to a dangerous edge- to the brink- to get the target of choice to back down and compromise and basically kneel before their power. (This method was also used during the Cold War and I believed that is when the phrase was first coined.) Nuclear threats and war threats with increasing severity are archetypal of brinkmanship as well, which we have seen North Korea do.

If 你 think about it, it's a bit like an elementary school play ground. North Korea is the bothersome wanker that's kicking up sand in other people's faces in order to get some sort of rise and to make themselves seem big and tough. This time they're targeting the USA and South Korea.

Much like the playground setting, a full on war is very much a likelihood, but it all depends on how either side reacts. I doubt that the North Koreans will too too much aside from talking big, as the use of brinkmanship suggests. Sure, they're going to do a bit to back up their threats so we take them seriously, but they won't be much 更多 than a 蚊子 或者 a tick. They would be pulling quite a risky move, and either they realise that 或者 they are complete twits. We, on the other hand, have a bit 更多 control.
It is in the hands of the government to decide how to react to it. I hope that the government chooses the right option to avoid a full scale war, whatever the option may be. I would like to think it probable that they shall.



So, basically, to sum up this TL;DR post, it is a possibility, but I believe that a similar state to the Cold War is 更多 likely.

they can bicker and whine all they want but there's no way that they'd start a war between us. perhaps South Korea may be in some sort of danger, but in reality if North Korea tries to start a war it's gonna get shut down really quick

Nah, Kim Jong-un is just doing it for show. He'd never dare actually getting into a war with us because he knows he'd lose. North Korea's army is basically shit because they don't have the supplies/food to train enough, and they would definitely lose in a fight against South Korean and/or American troops. They also totally lack the technology to make nuclear warheads 或者 long-range missiles that could hit mainland US. I think Kim's just messing around, trying to get the world to pay attention and trying to earn respect from his people and keep control. (Which, 由 the way, is probably going to prove to be fruitless because the rising middle class in the supposedly classless North Korea is bound to make a major change sooner 或者 later.)

I haven't really followed it much, so I don't know. If he does, then I'll probably be fighting it. I'll be joining the military (most likely Air Force) soon.

I know they want South Korea, so if they attack them we'll pound there ass. But no, I don't think they will, they'll get pounded if they do.

I don't really think it would be in the best interest of North Korea to bomb the US at this time. It wouldn't be taken well 由 most countries, regardless of opinion 或者 varied government interests. Of course, I can't say whether the fearless leader of North Korea would make such a bold and violent move, but the best bet if any would be on a country nearby 或者 within a smaller radius like Japan, South Korea 或者 possibly Vietnam 或者 Taiwan. I would predict South Korea, which really doesn't make the situation much better at all.

Kim Jong-Un doesn't have the right men trained 或者 the firepower to attack us, he's doing it to cause controversy so others will be afraid, most likely he'll have to surrender if he attempts this act.
He's just another bratty, brutal prince from a dark era.

North Korea is just 展示 off. Trying to make themselves look tough. They are known for making many ridiculous claims. The unicorn lair for example...
And threatening South Korea and the US like this is just one of them.

North Korea has threatened to declare war for a while now, even before all this. Another WW is very unlikely to happen.

From what I've heard from my history teacher, I think it's likely that China will probobly 加入 up with North Korea. Only because of past alliences though. I also heard that N. Korea is gonna 火, 消防 the missle into 太空 in order to see how far the missle will go(mile wise). If China does 加入 with N. Korea, the military families will have to 移动 and possibly get stationed near the war-zone. Meaning 更多 civilian and military casualties.
