Well, I'm not sure if you've heard any of these bands before, but...

Ancient Bards, Blind Guardian, Dark Moor, Dream Theater, Kamelot, Lacuna Coil, Lunatica, Mortal 爱情 (although as a heads up, the lead singer's voice *can* get annoying sometimes; I still enjoy their music, though), Therion, Two Steps From Hell.

All of those bands fall under the Rock/Metal genre with the exception of Two Steps from Hell, which is technically a classical group but they sound 更多 like a movie soundtrack than actual classical music. xD I suggest their songs Freedom Fighters and The Strength of a Thousand Men to start out with.

And it sounds old, 你 know, like 70s-80s 音乐 but since 你 want to try to stuff, try it :).
