Michael 粉丝 have been called Michaelers since the early 90s. It was sometimes thought to reference collecting memorabilia, but 粉丝 would call themselves Michaelers and say "keep Michaeling" . I'm not sure when they started calling themselves moonwalkers, probably after a website called them that, which was later shut down for impersonating Michael. sadly, some of the 语录 from that site are still attributed to MJ. But he never called 粉丝 "moonwalkers," it was 更多 personal to him and he called them "My fans" 或者 "the fans".
