Just curious where did Michael get the nickname 'Applehead'?

Steveanna Jackson, Michael's niece, says Michael referred to all his loved ones as "Applehead". It was a comfort word for him, a term of endearment. She says his nieces and nephews called him "uncle doo doo" affectionately, because he loved to joke around and play all the time.
