迪士尼公主 Article: Is Aurora literate?

(More a "question piece" than an "opinion piece"...commentary will be very helpful for my third and final write-up on Aurora's personality)

I cannot remember if I read this somewhere 或者 if I misread something about Rapunzel who has three books... but Aurora seems to have 2 books?

Now, if this is correct, then I'm so happy! Partly because it supports my belief that she's educated (=obviously literate) well beyond the regular peasant, but also, makes her all the better of a role model which might make her 2nd fav princess now (Sorry Cindy).

Historically speaking (=14th century, 1300s), she is set well before Gutenberg's printing press (=1450s) and thus 图书 would be very rare and very expensive. And not only that but she was probably in one of the least literate demographics: teenage; female; peasant.

And then I just wonder what they are about? Most likely something religious 或者 maybe even some epic/heroic folk poem (like link)?

...So, what do 你 think that highlighted box is? Have 你 ever noticed it before? And what do 你 think if they are, indeed, books!?

Annabethandco Maybe one of them is her own story. After all, Belle read her own story lots of times.

MacytheStrange Hmm, very unique article idea! Those shapes are almost definitely books, but for all we know they could be Flora's cookbooks or something. And I don't really think it changes much if she does like reading, it wouldn't affect her or the story.

Swanpride Well, I always thought that the fairies gave her a proper education to prepare her for her later duties (not that all nobles or even kings were literate back then).

Jayden-G They are probably here and I never noticed the books. Maybe one of them is the cookbook Fauna was reading, but I highly doubt it.

So I think all the cooking related books would be where they are most needed. (I guess the dress book might be in the chest of the fabrics? Btw, I think it’s completely plausible to have just a clothes-making book because most people [i]even up to the Victorian age[/i] made and mended their own clothes) --They are at her bedside (which might indicate importance to her) and she only has two, so I’m sure she would notice its absence. --When Aurora approaches them, they hide the dress book (well, Fauna does). If the fairies wouldn’t want her to know anything, they wouldn’t have taken something she would most likely notice. It would explain a lot of her already regal nature, and would make the transition a bit easier. Hi I am RedQueen65 and I just 爱情迪士尼 and the

Seeing that they have to tell him something important, he kindly allowed them seats (and lollipops for the children).
