Why are there "Grammar Nazi's" on Fanpop?

I'm not a "Grammar Nazi."

I don't even like the term anymore. I don't really know why people feel the need to correct someone else's grammar. Perhaps it is because they get annoyed with bad grammar 或者 punctuation and need to fix it.

I get annoyed with it, too. I'm not going to lie. But I don't like correcting people. I think it's sort of rude in my eyes.

I do, however, tend to make a hypothesis of someone's level of intelligence 由 examining their grammar. That hypothesis remains until they prove me otherwise.

You've basically just asked why half the population of 潮流粉丝俱乐部 is on Fanpop.


I ask 你 this: why are 你 on Fanpop, and why do 你 have 更多 right than "Grammar Nazis"?

I'm a little bit grammar nazi I'm not a huge one. Some people on here when they ask 问题 they really make it sound horrible to read so people started correcting them. I'm pretty sure thats how the whole grammar nazi thing kicked off.

Because good english is not to everyone,and some people enjoy it,of course...

Like, as long as I know they're capable of proper spelling and grammar, I don't really care what they do. I have a few 老友记 like that, including myself.

It's how they are, 你 can't change it. For me, it's just a habit, as I've mentioned before, it's spontaneous to type like this. I can't explain it in a different way.

Some people just like to be able to read things ...and it makes a difference to them to not have to squint and stop and sputter and have to try so hard just to understand what someone is trying to say. It can become very annoying -especially if someone isn't even trying (more so than the Nazi's -in my opinion, because people should be able to speak 或者 spell if that is our communication device.) It is an intelligance quotient in a way too 或者 a measure of how much they even care.

Some people are 更多 OCD than others (myself included- though I make typos quite a bit.) My 大学 major has to do with writing/books so that has an influence too.

I would not call myself a Nazi, 由 any means, but I am 更多 attune with that theology than the opposite case scenario.

Ikr! I hate when they always correct u! It gets annoying... I can type however I want. We have the right to type how we want.

There's no rule against us being here, so...

I, for one, like to have my posts readable and I like to be able to read other's post without having to decifer it as if I was 阅读 Latin.

First of all I hate the name Grammar Nazi.
Couldn't they just call themselves the Grammar Police.
It sounds 更多 professional and better!
Also, I do at times find it very irritating when someone corrects my writing.
It's like I'm in English class all over again.
I came to 潮流粉丝俱乐部 to have fun not to have people criticizing my vocabulary and demanding for me to correct it -_-

But some people really bug me. I don't even understand what they're trying to explain.

We're here because good grammar is a dying art form that we'd like to save.

Same reason they're everwhere else. Because good English is important. o3o Of course, I'm the sort of person who will make allowances if the person speaking isn't a native English speaker, however, if they are, I am very likely to correct them on their grammar and spelling. o3o In a nice way.

However, I am aware that people don't always enjoy being corrected, myself included, it's human nature.

Because they can be here if they choose to. It's a free website. Plus some people go to extreme lengths of displaying bad grammar so they feel they should correct it. I know I don't want to read bad grammar all the time. It's annoying. But I only get annoyed when it's VERY bad grammar. Some people "typ liek thisss" 或者 quys can 你 add meeahh" That's just stupidity in English Language terms. Moral of the story is at least attempt to achieve good grammar and maybe the grammar police wouldn't be all over some people's cases but not everyone cares nor listens and then they complain about being corrected.. If the grammar is good 或者 average. I don't mind but I am not necessarily grammar police.

There are Grammar Nazis everywhere.

I mean, I don't know why one would give so many flying fucks about a stranger's grammar? Really, above all the things wrong with millions within our society, 你 decide to judge others and/or call them out on how they fucking type. -_-


To me, as long as I can understand what the hell you're saying, it doesn't matter to me.

Alongside the fact that you'd have no fucking idea if the person you're critiquing is dyslexic, not familiar with the English language and thus will 更多 than likely make grammar errors...cause I know I make a hell of a lot of mistakes when I try to write my Spanish essays evidently from what I see when I get them back after they're graded, and 你 don't know if the person has some type of disability.

So to me, making a fuss over someone's grammar and typing 或者 写作 is so damn pointless...

I am a 'Grammar Nazi', because I absolutley hate it when people butcher the hell out of the poor english language. I am merely trying to help when I correct people's use of grammar.
