Rene ran through the zeta, her head bleeding in the back, leaving a dark red streak on the back of her neon yellow T-shirt. Zack sat on the 长椅, 沙发 and looked up at her, smiling.

    “Zack?” she 说 a little shaking.

    “Yes?”

“I don’t feel so good…” she 说 with her voice trailing off as she fell onto the ground. Zack quickly caught her before her head hit the ground. He held the back of her head and then pulled his hand away, looking at the red heads blood that dripped off his hand. Zack turned her over and saw the trail of blood on Rene’s T-shirt. The black haired boy picked her up, carrying her like a baby, and ran to the infirmary.

    Zack burst through the door and went up to a nurse, 展示 her the streak of blood on his girlfriend’s T-shirt. The nurse told him to put her on the empty hospital 床, 床上 下一个 to the desk, and he did as she said. A tall doctor came over and pushed the 床, 床上 Rene laid on into a room, making Zack wait outside. He frowned and sat in a chair outside the door, knowing that his girlfriend would want him to listen to the doctor.

    Inside the room, Rene was completely unconscious, her head still bleeding as she lay in the bed. The doctor flipped her over and moved her red hair, looking for the bleeding wound. He found a deep laceration in the back of her head, her scalp torn right down to the bone. The doctor opened the door and yelled for a nurse to bring him a needle and thread. Zack looked up at the doctor and panicked a little bit. He asked if he could come into the room; but the doctor had already gone back into Rene’s room. The doctor grabbed some gauze and started to cleanse the wound, making it easier to see her wounded scalp. A nurse rushed in with a needle and thread, handing it to the doctor. He thanked her, cleaned the little bit of blood that still dripped from where the laceration was; and began to suture her scalp closed. The doctor sewed the wound shut and knotted the thread, carefully holding Rene’s head the whole time. He kept her lying in the bed, allowing her to regain consciousness. The nurse to his needle and extra thread and threw it out in a metal trash can as she walked out of the room. Zack, who had been patiently waiting, looked up and quickly went up to her, asking if he could go in to see the red head. She nodded and went to the 下一个 doctor needing assistance. The black haired boy went into the room, seeing a different nurse flip Rene over, carefully placing her head on the pillow, and put an IV in her arm. The doctor still stood in the room, holding a clipboard, 写作 things down. Rene still lay unconscious in the bed; her eyelids closed, 展示 her blue veins. Zack walked over to her and sat in the chair 下一个 to the bed, taking her thin limp hand and holding it. The nurse finished placing the IV and went over to the doctor, who still held his clipboard. He talked to the nurse for a minute, handed her the clipboard and walked out of the room.

    “You can check her out when she regains consciousness,” the nurse 说 to Zack, “just make sure her stiches don’t get infected. You’ll want to wash them gently so they don’t come out 或者 cause her any pain.”

    “Okay, thank you.”

    “You’re welcome,” she 说 as she put the clipboard on the hook on the 床, 床上 and walked out of the room, leaving Rene and Zack alone in the room. The black haired boy still held onto her lifeless hand while he waited for his girlfriend to wake.

    About a half an 小时 later, Rene’s brown eyes flickered open, looking up at the ceiling. She looked at the hand Zack held as he slept in the chair. The red head sat up, scooting back so she leaned onto the pillows, her hand slipping from Zack’s hand. He awoke when her hand left his, looked at her smiling a little bit. Rene went to touch the stiches on her head; but he slapped her hand away.

    “You can’t touch it,” he said, his voice calm,” 你 don’t want to get it infected.”

    “Okay,” the girl said, leaning back on the pillows.

    “So, are 你 going to tell me what happened?”

    “Nope.”

    “Why?”

    “Cause it’s none of your concern.”

    “How is it none of my concern? I’m your boyfriend.”

    “Because I 说 it is none of your concern. Now,” she 说 as she got out of the bed, “check me out so we can go.” Rene walked out of the room, Zack behind her. He checked her out and left the infirmary, trying to grab Rene’s hand; but she walked ahead of him.

    “Rene, are 你 okay?” She turned to face him.

    “Yeah, why do 你 ask?”

    “Because 你 won’t tell me what happened and you’re avoiding me at the moment while we walk.” Rene stayed silent, turned around, and continued walking forward, ignoring Zack. He sighed and followed her, having nothing else to say. The red head grabbed her phone out of her back pocket and texted Rosie and Maxine. Meet me outside The Daily 号角 in an hour. We have some business to attend to. Both of the girls replied saying they’d be there. Rene walked a little bit faster, going into her apartment building. Her boyfriend followed her upstairs and into her apartment, closing the door behind him. The red head went into her room and changed into her hero outfit, then came back out, grabbing her bag, and went to the closet in the corner of the main room. Zack watched her put weapons into her bag.

    “Where are 你 going?” he asked her as she grabbed a folder and slipped on her military jacket, backpack on her shoulders.

    “Somewhere,” she 说 as she was about to open the door; but he stopped her.

    “Where?”

    “Somewhere.”

    “That’s not a place.” Rene nodded, trying to push him out of the way; but he wouldn’t budge.

    “Dude, let me go.”

    “Not till 你 tell me what happened.”

    “It’s none of your-“

    “Concern?” he 说 cutting her off, “Yes, it is.”

    “No, it’s not. Now, leave me be,” she 说 as she jumped out the window into an alley, and teleported away.

    Rene walked into The Daily 号角 and burst right into Jameson’s office, throwing the folder on his desk.

    “There’s your 文章 Jameson, happy?” He flipped through the folder, skimming over the story and pictures.

    “Good Ms. Oshea. Your 下一个 文章 is due two weeks from tomorrow. Free choice this time.” Rene smiled.

    “Thanks Jameson,” she 说 as she two-finger saluted to him, walking out of his office. On her way out, she bumped into Peter Parker. “Hey, there’s the guy I need.” He smiled and shook his head.

    “Pictures of ‘you know who’?”

    “Doi. I’ll need them in about a week, if 你 don’t mind.”

    “I don’t mind at all. I’ll 电子邮箱 them to you.”

    “You’re the best 你 know that?” she asked sweetly as she hugged him. He smiled and hugged her back. Rene broke away and waved goodbye as the elevator doors closed. She walked out of the elevator, holding a strap of her backpack; and walked out to where she saw Maxine and Rosie waiting for her, their hero outfits covered 由 jackets. Rosie smiled at her and signed hello.

    “Hey,” Rene said, smiling. She looked over at Maxine, whose arms were crossed in front of her chest.

    “Alright Rene, what are we doing this time?” The red head turned around and parted her hair carefully, 展示 them both her new stitches.

    “Good job,” Rosie signed, “almost got yourself killed. Again.” Rene did an eye roll.

    “Oh stop it Rosie. You’ve almost gotten yourself killed a couple times before.”

    “Except 你 do it 更多 regularly,” Rosie signed.

    “Both of 你 stop,” Maxine said. “So, what does this have to do with your new scar?”

    “Joker,” Rene 说 with her voice serious. “He tried to shoot me, which he did, but he just grazed my scalp deeply. We,” she paused, smiling,” are gonna go kick his 屁股 a little. Teach him a lesson.”

    “I 爱情 teaching lessons,” Maxine 说 with a grin. “You got some weapons?” Rene tugged on her backpack strap.

    “Of course. Can’t leave 首页 without them.”

    “Then let’s go,” Rosie signed, “I have a 日期 later.” The blonde and the red head looked at her like she was crazy.

    “Since when do 你 date?” Maxine asked her as the three of them walked down the street.

    “Since I got asked out on Saturday,” Rosie signed.

    “Good for 你 Roselz,” Rene said, “You don’t get out enough. Unless I call 你 over for a movie marathon…” Rosie laughed.

    “Okay then,” Maxine 说 slowly. The other two girls laughed as they walked down the street.

    “Alright, we better get moving before him and Harley disappear on us,” Rene 说 as she grabbed her friends’ hands and teleported to one of his 最喜爱的 hideouts: The docks.

    The three of them teleported to the entrance of his hideout; right in front of the door. Rene took off her backpack and unzipped slowly, without making a sound. She pulled out a sword, a few hand guns, a grenade, and the gun Twan had 给 her. Rosie grabbed the sword and ran her hand over it while it was on fire, making the edge hot and sharp. Maxine grabbed the grenade and two hand guns, putting the grenade in her back pocket and holding the guns. The red head grabbed the gun she got from Twan, smiling as she thought about some memories, the shook her head and put the gun in her pocket. They all stood up and went to the door, slowly opening it so it wouldn’t make a sound. Joker and Harley were sitting on a 长椅, 沙发 together, watching some TV program. The three girls walked over and pointed their weapons at them, locking their guns. Joker turned around, his face in a big grin as usual.

    “Harley, look! It’s the three musketeers! Why, I haven’t seen 你 guys since that-“

    “That’s 最佳, 返回页首 secret Joker,” Maxine 说 sternly, “And 你 know that.”

    “Sorry Ms. Ivory,” Joker 说 to her, “What are 你 gonna, use some of that persuasive magic of yours on me? Cause we all know it doesn’t work on me.” Maxine just stood there, her face growing redder 由 the second, trying to think of a good come back; but she didn’t have one.

    “Maxine?” Rene whispered to her.

    “And my little 橙子, 橙色 haired rose,” Joker said, “Well, are 你 going to burn me to death? 或者 are 你 scared to?”

    “I’m not that scared anymore,” Rosie signed, still holding the sword in her hand, “I should chop your head off right now.”

    “Why haven’t 你 yet then?” The green haired man asked her. Rosie’s face flushed with anger, but 说 nothing. He smiled his big grin. “Looks like the rose has nothing to say either,” Joker said, chuckling. Rene went up to him and pointed a gun at his head.

    “Shut up 你 lunatic 或者 I’ll pull the trigger.”

    “Of course, little Rene Kenna Oshea, how could I forget you?”

    “It’s very hard, but 你 managed,” she said, pushing the gun harder on his head.

    “Oh come on, I’m just messing with you,” he said, ruffling her hair. She slapped his hand away and pushed the gun harder, pulling the trigger a little.

    “I don’t like it when people mess with my hair, and I especially don’t like when people try to shoot me either.”

    “Oh my little red head, 你 know I’m just having a little fun! Hey, why don’t we all have a sleepover,” he 说 as he pulled something out of his pocket, “I have my toothbrush.” He pulled out a gun from his pocket, but Rene slapped it out of his hand and pulled the trigger on her gun a little more, not firing it.

    “Um, no thanks.”

    “Party pooper, no cake for you,” he said, a pout on his face.

    “Sorry, but I would rather not get killed in my sleep.” Maxine came closer to Joker and put a gun to the other side of his head. Rosie came over, her hands on fire, standing in front of him.

    “Well, looking like the party is really starting!” The mad man said. Both Maxine and Rene had their fingers on the trigger, pulling it back; but not firing. Joker quickly moved out of his 座位 and ran out of the building, Harley following him. “Not today little girls! Maybe at our 下一个 party!” He 说 as he ran out of the hideout. Rene sighed and made her backpack appear 下一个 to her, throwing her gun in the bag. Maxine and Rosie did the same with their weapons.

    “Looks like this was a bit of a bust,” Maxine said.

    “That’s okay,” the red head said, “There’s always 下一个 time.”

    “Alright,” Rosie signed, “I got to get back to my house. Rene, will 你 teleport me there?”

    “Sure! Have fun on your 日期 girl!”

    “I plan to,” she signed as Rene 说 a few magic words and teleported Rosie off. The red head turned to Maxine and smiled.

    “Wanna have a movie marathon with me?” she asked the blonde, who had been fairly quiet. Maxine sighed.

    “Fine,” she said. Rene squealed, but Maxine stopped her, “As long as we don’t watch Ice Age.”

    “Why not Ice Age?”

    “Because Sid freaks me out.”

    “But he’s the best character!”

    “Yeah, okay.”

    “Fine, we’ll watch Nemo, and Aladdin, and Alice in Wonderland!”

    “As long as we have 爆米花 and root beer, I’ll be fine,” Maxine 说 as they walked down the street.

    “Okey dokey lokey! With an artichokey!” Rene said, giggling.

    “Oh god someone shoot me now,” Maxine mumbled. The red head laughed hysterically as they went to her apartment, where they would begin their 迪士尼 Movie Marathon.
