Rene slipped on the vest over her 运动衫 and pulled the straps tight. She looked at the black mask on the 表 and studied it a moment before putting it on. 
"Why are we wearing this, again?" Rene turned to see Silver standing in the doorway. She was outfitted in a similar uniform- black face mask (tinted glass, to support her secret ID), camouflage sweatshirt, dark denim jeans, grey gloves, and combat boots. 
Rene shrugged, "This is what Twan 说 for us to wear in his text." 
"Is he planning a war 或者 something?" 
Before the sorceress could answer, Bentley and Twan walked into the room, wearing the same gear as the girls. 
"Actually," Twan said, "a double date." 
The girls looked at each other, then to their boyfriends, who held two paintball 枪 in their hands. 
"Paintball?" they 说 together. "Cool!"

A paintball went over Twan's head.
"That is the closest you've come to hitting anything all day," he 说 to Bentley, laughing.
"And I would have thought a gunslinger would be able to aim better," Bentley replied. A few paintballs flew at the boy's from the side; they 鸽子 away to avoid the paintballs. 
They both looked aside, seeing the girls firing at them frome their cover. The boys rolled behind the torn down three fore cover, aiming their paintball 枪 at each other.
"We need to work together 或者 the girls will take us down one 由 one," Bentley said. 
"Good," Twan 说 and the both lowered there guns. 
"You take Silver, I'll take care of Rene," Twan said. Bentley nodded and they rolled out of cover to the opposite sides, opening 火, 消防 on the girls, who had to 鸭 to not get hit. 
"Since when do those 2 work together?" Silver said, surprised. 
"Does it matter?" Rene 说 and the girls started to 火, 消防 back.

Bentley pressed back against the wall. A 粉, 粉色 paintball splattered right where he had been standing a moment before. 
"Darn it!" Rene yelled from her cover. 
"Where'd she learn to shoot like that?" Bentley said. 
"Uh... No idea," Twan muttered, avoiding eye contact. 
"We need a new tactic," Bentley muttered.

Silver peeked through a crack in the boards that were serving as the girls' cover. She watch as her boyfriend ducked behind his own wall, just in time too, for a 粉, 粉色 paintball hit right where he had been standing. Silver blew an impressed whistle. "Where'd 你 learn to shoot like that?" she asked Rene. 
The redhead smiled sheepishly. "Twan." 
Silver laughed, "Nice." She listened to the sudden silence and narrowed her eyes at the boys' cover. "I'm gonna try to get closer." 
"Good luck," Rene said, gun still aimed at where the boys had been a moment ago. 
Silver nodded to her, then ran through the cluster of walls and other variations of cover that been set up on the field. She loaded her gun, slid down a mound of dirt, then jogged to where the boys had been, boots silent on the hard packed earth. 
Bent low, she moved her gun back and forth cautiously. The teen paused when she came to the exact spot where she knew Twan had been standing. Two arms suddenly wrapped around her from behind. 
"Gotcha," Bentley muttered in her ear and placed a 吻乐队（Kiss） on her cheek.

Twan ran across the field making sure not to be seen. 
"Unbelievable Sil fell for that old trick. Good idea from Bent though."

Rene still had her gun aimed at the boys' position when a red paintball flew across, inches away from her face. 
"Hello there, beautiful," Twan 说 while leaning against the side of the 墙 she used as cover. Rene giggeld and opened 火, 消防 on him; he 鸽子 behind the wall, firing back at her. A red paintbale hit her shoe. 
"Damn," she said. Twan walked up to her and took of his mask, giving her a kiss.
"You were amazing. 你 almost beat me."
She smiled at him, they hugged, and they stood in each other's arms for a while. Twan put on his mask again and aimed his gun at the place Bentley and Silver were.

Silver and Bentley hit the deck as a spray of bullets flew at them. Bentley looked up to see his girlfriend sitting with her back against the wall, taking cover, and joined her, sliding his mask back in place. A moment later, the shots ceased.
"Traitor!" Bentley shouted to his former teammate. No response.
"What's he doing?" Silver whispered.
"Probably making out with Rene," he replied.
"Traitor," she muttered.
Something thudded into the 草 before them. Silver reached 前锋, 期待 and grabbed the cold, round projectile to inspect it. 
"Grenade!" the couple exclaimed in unison. Silver dropped it and rolled to the side. The grande exploded, splattering the grass, walls... And the couple.
Bentley cursed, but before her could stand, Silver put a hand on his arm. She was crouched, cradling her loaded gun, Rene suddenly at her side.

Twan waited for the others to walk out from behind their cover, coated in red paint from his hand grenade. When he met nothing but desolate silence, he cautiously approached their cover. 
"Sil? Bent?" he called, gun raised. Ten feet from the wall, an exclamation of "Bonzia!" was heard. Bentley, sporting splatters of red on his gear, stood from behind a mound of dirt. Rene and Silver jumped up from behind the wall. 
"Yippi-kai-yay!" They shouted in unison and unleashed a hail of 粉, 粉色 and grey bullets at Twan, quickly followed 由 Bentley's black. Their target crossed his arms in an X and stumbled back into a bail of hay.
"I surrender!" he proclaimed.
All firing ceased immediately. Seemed pulled up her mask and teleported to her boyfriend's side. 
"Traitor," he said, pulling up his own paintball-mask. She giggled as he wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close for another kiss.

They walked into the cave laughing. "It was fun to see 你 get taken down," Silver 说 to Twan. 
"You guys just got lucky that's all," he responded. 
"Yeah right," the others 说 in unison, sarcastically. 
They sat down at the table. 
"This was sure fun," Bentley said; the others nodded in agreement.
