Chapter Two
When Jamie got to the 板栗 oak door of Michael’s den, she put her fist on the surface and knocked on it while asking her husband, “Michael, are 你 there?” There was a 分钟 of silence that came after that and after waiting for a response, still in the den, Michael asked the person who was asking him that 问题 about him being there, “Yeah, I’m in here. Who’s it?”
Facing the door, Jamie 说 back to him, “It’s me, Jamie.” After telling him that, Jamie heard some groaning behind the door and right away, she knew that Michael had might be annoyed at her because Michael doesn’t liked when people starting banging at his door and get disturbed from he was doing 由 them. The moment she heard that groaning, Jamie really wanted to ask him to opened the door and let her in so she can see if he’s okay with everything 或者 not. To do that, Jamie knocked on the door again to see if he’s still there and listening to her and in return, Michael yelled at her, “What do 你 want from me, Jamie?”
“Get me in so I can see 你 is I wanted from you.” answered 由 Jamie. 秒 after hearing that from his wife, Michael sighed loudly from inside the room and 说 to her, “Fine, then. 你 can come in. The door was unlocked.” When Michael told her to come in, Jamie 说 to him but mostly to herself, “Thank you.” While putting her hand on the doorknob, turning it around, opened the door, and got inside.
Once she got the den, the whole room was dark and in the dark, Jamie looked around the room to see where Michael is at. All four walls of the room had stacked with 樱桃 wood bookcases filled with 图书 ranging from Charles Dickens to Hemingway to John Grisham, large 照片 albums that filled with pictures of the family all the way from Michael and her great-grandparents to all the way down to their very own. There were many cherish items from Michael’s life like his sport trophies, framed diplomas that he was proud of and earned since Grade School and to keep their two little girls happy, Michael had their drawings they made for him framed which is now on the shelves and walls, covered with dust right now.
In the middle of the room was his 台, 办公桌 which is filled with papers he had drew on his sketches for one of his many side projects which is building furniture made out of wood for their 首页 and other people. His designs were amazing to looked at and when it was time to make them for real, Michael had putted so much faith and time into those that the furniture had become 更多 beautiful in real life which is right now, it was really one of the few things he like to do for the past few months beside not wanting to be with his wife and kids.
下一个 to his 台, 办公桌 was the big green suede easy chair that he loves since he brought it at a flea market for only $20. He told Jamie that 日 when he brought that chair that the moment he sat on that chair, it was one of the most comfortable things he ever sat on and it makes he felt good about himself which was that very moment, Michael was sitting on it with a soft flannel blanket covering him and an opened book on his lap but he wasn’t 阅读 the book at all, he was just staring into space.
Jamie founded him sitting there and wanting their 爱情 to come back again, she walked behind the green chair, put her arms around his shoulders, and smoothing his neck and stubbles on his face while saying to him in a soft and sweet voice, “Morning, Baby. How 你 are feeling right now?”
Without turning around and staring at those pale blue eyes of her with his brown ones, Michael told her in a low voice that he just got a bad dream about Iraq, gave him the creeps, and went to his 巢穴, den, 书房 to be safe. Hearing that, still with her arms around his neck, Jamie kissed his neck, jaw, and a bit of his right ear, she asked him if he can talk to her about it so she can see if she can help him out with it to make it better for him.
There was another silence between them when she asked him that but it was broken when Michael turned to her for the first time, stared at her with those empty brown eyes again like always and answered her 问题 由 saying to her, “No, Jamie. 你 can’t help me out with it. Not this time.”
Wanting to help him right now but can’t because her husband told her that he didn’t wanted her help right now, Jamie asked him another question. “When is the time for me to help you?” The moment he heard that, Michael answered her 问题 由 saying to her, “I don’t know, Jamie. Probably soon but now, can 你 leave the 巢穴, den, 书房 right now? I would like to be alone.”
“Like always!” thought 由 Jamie when she heard that line many times before this and wanting her husband that she cares about him and loves him, Jamie kissed him on the cheek and told him that if he wanted some breakfast 或者 something, she will be making 薄煎饼, 煎饼 for the girls this morning and there will be a cup of coffee waiting for him. “How that feels, Honey?”
In return, Michael didn’t say a word to her about it; he just gave her a nod and went back to his curtain covered window he was staring at before. Jamie saw that, sighed to herself again for knowing that she did another unsuccessful job of getting him to come back to her. Jamie was wondering when he will turn to her again and telling her that he loves her and there will be a little clearing of hope in his eyes and everything will go back to normal when she heard the tiny footsteps of their daughters, walking to the 厨房 for some breakfast. Jamie knew that she had to go and begin to walked out of the 巢穴, den, 书房 to take care of Mac and Izzie and get little Jake out of his room and into the 厨房 where she will be right here in waiting for Michael to come back.

It’s the color of you
你 always wore it
It’s the color we shared
As we hid form them
With it we showed our true selves,
Though no one cared
Our 橙子, 橙色 book bags
Saved us from some pain
We protected each other
But it wasn’t enough
We were like two 橙子, 橙色 crayons
When everyone else was green
Then 你 left me alone,
All I had was our color orange
As they hit me
I took peace in knowing
你 were in the 橙子, 橙色 field in the sky
你 always 说 was there.
The 橙子, 橙色 of the sun set
Is your smile
Even though 你 left too soon
Orange…
Now it’s my color
My way of remembering you
Now I am the lone 橙子, 橙色 in the rainbow
Without 你 here
I protect my own
Though I wish 你 were here
Now 橙子, 橙色 is my color
A color for 你 bravery
A color for my survival
橙子, 橙色 will forever be our color
Even though death took 你 away
Forever 橙子, 橙色 for you,
Sweet Cassidy.

Your 心 is sore, crippled up like paper.
Your voice is weak, barely passing 由 you.
Your body is tired, let it lay for tonight.
你 are but you- a stranger to much.
No one cares to know you.
They do not wish to after all.
And all those times 你 told everything-
It was a lie, I 爱情 你 became a lie. A horrible lie not one can ever take back to you. How could they, breaking your very soul to the apple's wrinkled core? It shook and broke, just like that. Lonesome and ever so exhausted of even thinking it would be different this time around.
You're so hopeless. 你 probably cannot 移动 away from the pain, the desecration left in the path at the end. Then again, in the end it probably doesn't even matter, does it?
Once a joy, now a misery forever scared, alone.

I walk into
The Fields of Sorrow
Once again.
Why do I walk there
Almost everyday?
I stroll along the grasses
Thinking
Bearing a horrible pain.
I think of the world around me
And how much they have inspired me.
I start to cry once again.
All my teachers
All my friends,
They have always stood 由 me,
When things went wrong.
I want a chance to repay them,
To 显示 them that...
Their work was useful.
To 显示 them that
I am truly thankful.
Why do I have to leave them then
Now?
No, now's not a good time.
But I know it was not intended
That I leave them now.
I want to 显示 all those people
That they have been
The change of my life,
That they have made my life so much
Better,
That they were the flames
In the darkness.
The Fields of Sorrow
Once again.

The change of my life,
That they have made my life so much
Better,
That they were the flames
In the darkness.
I never thought it would be that easy,
Cause we are both so distant now.
And the walls are closing in on us,
And we are wondering how.
No one has a solid answer,
But just walking in the dark,
你 can see the look on my face,
It just tears me apart.
When I first met you,
I thought,
How would I get to know this girl well?
Now,
I think,
Why do I have to leave this girl already?
But 你 and I,
Both of us are walking alone,
In the dark.
Even though 你 are not with me,
I can feel 你 with me in my heart.
It just breaks me to think
That 你 are not with me.
But now,
As I have pondered this situation
For a while now,
I have made a decision.
I am alone.
I am not alone, however, in my heart.
你 are with me,
Walking in the dark,
Together.
Cause we are both so distant now.
And the walls are closing in on us,
And we are wondering how.
No one has a solid answer,
But just walking in the dark,
你 can see the look on my face,

你 are with me,
Walking in the dark,
Together.
Some of 你 may go through life,
Thinking something,
That is,
Who the hero is in your life.
I am one of those people.
But what I found is that
Even though many people are major influences
On my success in life
Such as my closest friends,
My teachers,
My parents,
Those serving for our country,
Others around me,
或者 even my worst enemies.
This 年 I have found that
The hero that I have
Is no one else
But me.
My hero is myself.
I inspire myself to do everything I do.
I am the light of my life.
Thinking something,
That is,
Who the hero is in your life.
