My 心 rate increased, causing my 心 monitor to start beeping erratically. Not at the sight of Cameron, but at the sight of Mercury.
Cameron must've noticed because he ran up to me and said, "Vanessa, calm down."
I kept my eyes on Mercury. "What's she doing here?"
"You should be greatful that I came to see you", Mercury said.
"Mercury..." Cameron turned to face me. "She drove me here."
"After he hit you, the police too his car away", Mercury said, grabbing my 电视 vision remote and changing the channel.
"Hey!"
"Don't worry about the television, Vanessa." Cameron sat down on the 长椅, 沙发 chair closest to my bed. "Let's get started on what 你 missed." He placed the 图书 on the night 表 and grabbed the one on top. "In Geometry...." As he explained to me everything I missed, I couldn't help but feel as though he and I were the only one in the room.
"Cameron, babe, could 你 get me some water", Mercury said. Her voice slicing right through my trance.
"It's on the 表 beside you." He gestured to the 粉, 粉色 pitcher of water.
"That's gross hospital water! Get me some from the vending machine down the hall, please?" She looked at him with pleading eyes.
He looked at me. "Fine." He closed the book, put it on the 长椅, 沙发 chair cushion he was sitting on, got up, and left the room.
Mercury got up from the 长椅, 沙发 chair opposite of me. She closed the room door. "I know what you're trying to do", she 说 walking towards me.
I grabbed the nurse button for protection. "What are 你 talking about?"
"Trying to take Cameron from me."
Is she serious? "Are 你 serious?" Then it came to me. "You think I did this to myself?"
"Of course not. Cameron helped you."
"Huh?"
"Don't play dumb. 你 saw his car that night on the road. And 你 jumped in front of his car."
"You're being serious? Why would I do that?"
"Because 你 were looking for attention. The fact that Cameron was spending so much time with me was killing you. So 你 pull this stunt."
"You seriously think that I would purposely run in front of Cameron's car just to get attention?"
She nodded.
"Unbelievable."
Cameron came back into the room with a bottle of water. "What's going on?"
"Just fluffing V's pillow!" She pretended to fluff my pillow. "There." She patted my head like I was a dog. Then she took her 座位 back on the 长椅, 沙发 chair she was sitting in, and watched television.
Cameron closed the door behind him. He went over to Mercury to give her the bottle of water.
"Thanks babe." She grabbed him 由 the 衬衫 and kissed him. For 5 whole minutes.

Once she broke the embrace, Cameron cleared his throat and came back to sit beside me. "Now back to the lesson.."

Until he had his moment and let go
With little strength, she had saved it and ran
She had ran until the darkness was unbearable,
As she wept, the jar shivered in her arms
Her dark blue eyes were drenched
And her mind was a dark, narrow corridor.
Her heat prolonged in entrapment,
Torturing her unknowingly with each eternity-like moment.
Finally, she ceased her overwhelming emotions,
Now silent and pondering
Distracted, the jar fell, and shattered at her feet
He’s gone. He’s gone! The words danced in her mind.
Her 心 was free, and she was free
She got to her feet, no longer stumbling
And the shattered jar crunched under her feet
There was no 更多 pain.

So anyways, it's about a Hollie, 17 年 old girl who has an alcoholic mother and a step father who abuses her as well as her 12 年 old sister, Amy. Hollie's been in a 3 年 on/off relationship with a heroin addicted boyfriend, Danny. When a close call puts Danny in the hospital, he promises Hollie that he'll quit and they'll find a better life. This causes Hollie to realize that she needs to leave 首页 and find help herself.
