Ever since I was young, I’ve always enjoyed graffiti. I’ve never done graffiti in my life, 或者 have any artistic skills at all, but I enjoy it. Maybe it was due to a combination of playing a lot of Jet Set Radio as a kid as well as seeing them when I was living around urban areas as a kid. Now do I condone the act of vandalism for the sake of graffiti….. Mmmmm legally can’t say. Basically, I 爱情 the free spirited nature of it and any game that can replicate graffiti is fine 由 me. And today we’ll be talking about Graffiti Kingdom… this game has absolutely nothing to do with graffiti. There’s art in it, sure, but nothing that really screams graffiti. Maybe it has to do with the looser term for it, the free spirited nature of drawing what 你 want. 或者 maybe because Drawing Kingdom 或者 Art Kingdom sounded a little too generic. Regardless, Graffiti Kingdom is a game made 由 Taito and has 音乐 composed 由 Yasunori Mitsuda, who also did the 音乐 for Chrono Trigger, one of my 最喜爱的 soundtracks from one of my 最喜爱的 games. So how can 你 experience this great game? Well simple, just spend over a hundred dollars to get it. Now Graffiti Kingdom isn’t the most expensive game out there on the PS2, I promise 更多 expensive ones exist, but man, I had to get a beat up copy that barely worked just to talk about it. And that alone cost me a good $50. Raidou Kuzunoha wasn’t even that pricey. Well, let’s see what we got and see if it’s worth a good chunk of my paycheck.

So in Graffiti Kingdom, 你 play as Prince Pixel, a rather lazy little shit who happens to come across a giant door that releases the Devil. And no, not some Demon King 或者 anything. They flat out call the villain The Devil. I mean, sure, he’s not exactly all red skinned and threatening 由 any means, but just the fact that Shin Megami Tensei was hit with controversy about being a satanic game despite being rated M for “Not for fucking kids, goddammit”, but an E rated game like Graffiti Kingdom could get away with calling their antagonist The Devil is kinda funny to me. Anyway, with a magical wand in hand and an annoying sidekick named Pasel on his back, Pixel makes his way through the transformed 城堡 to fight the Devil and save the kingdom. Now as I was reviewing this, it turns out that Graffiti Kingdom is part of a franchise, kinda. Graffiti Kingdom is actually a sequel to a game called Magic Pengel: Quest For Color. Maybe I’ll talk about that one 日 on PS2 Cents. Magic Pengel was 更多 of a turn based game, but Graffiti Kingdom is all about an action experience where 你 attack enemies and level up after a few enemies are defeated. The game is simple. Go through the level, maybe get a curveball and solve some puzzles, fight the boss and 移动 on to the 下一个 one. The gameplay is simple enough, but charming. The 音乐 has this wonder like feeling to it, and while it certainly ain’t no Chrono Trigger, it has this childlike innocence to it. And I did find myself loving the final boss theme. The level 设计 is really nice too. Everything looks like little clay 模特 或者 arts and crafts like a child made it in art class. It really does feel like an imagination of sorts. Even the characters have these textures that make them look like 玩偶 without looking too uncanny and it’s only visible if 你 get a close up. It’s all really charming from a visual stand-point. And I like Pixel’s sort of rude, dickish personality. His dialogue is kinda filled with a tongue-in-cheek, almost self aware vibe that I kind of like. That said, the bickering between Pixel and Pastel got really grating for me after a while. I get it, 你 two are dumb kids. Get out of your phase and become shitty teens already. But where the game really shines, what everyone knows it for, is the drawing.
I 爱情 the drawing mechanic in this game. Now this isn’t super crazy with what 你 can do. There’s no super realistic looking 《皮囊》 或者 sets 你 can do. But what I 爱情 about it, what I find so amazing, is that the game lets 你 create whatever 你 want. 你 wanna make a giant pig beat with three eyes, go ahead. 你 wanna make a weird twelve legged 螃蟹 demon, do it. 你 wanna make the biggest cock in the world. Go nuts. I think I spent three hours alone just creating all sorts of monsters. If I had this game when I was a kid, I would’ve loved it so much. This is the kind of stuff 你 should give to a kid playing video games. Give them something that can really 显示 off their creativity. My 最喜爱的 creatures to create consisted of Mike Wazowski, Plank from Ed, Edd n Eddy, the sleep paralysis demon, Mr. Krabs, and a little naked man with a knife. Yep, this is the Fuck Satan Squad right here. 你 can even 编辑 their voices, their walk cycles, their attacks. It’s not an expansive amount, but this would really blow a kids mind away. And seeing the creation walk around like a dumbass is both hilarious but charming at the same time. And 你 will need these creations because Pixel can’t fight for shit in his base form. 你 can also use the ability of enemies 你 capture, which I didn’t really need… until the near end of the game, when I needed to both solve puzzles and also get enemies to fight the final bosses for me, because my creations sucked dick and the enemies I fought were way 更多 powerful. I will say I like the enemy designs. They have really good puns and are pretty creative, also made using the same drawing technique. Some of them give me some Okage: The Shadow King vibes… and that’s always a good thing.
There will also be times where having the right creation will allow 你 to solve puzzles and get over obstacles depending on how 你 did. Sure, it’s fun to create a giant penis monster, but 你 also gotta be smart about it and figure out which monsters will work. If 你 see coins floating just out of reach, 你 need to get a long legged creature to jump up and get it. If 你 need to get through a closing door, get a creature with wheels to drive over to it. 你 also gotta know which creature to use in a boss fight. I was able to get through most fights with ease. Just keep wailing on the boss, 或者 if they are faster than you, time it just right and get a few combos in. It’s pretty simple… except for this fucking asshole Telepin. Telepin will always jump around and stay just out of reach but jump close at just the right time to start comboing 你 and 你 can easily get comboed to death, especially when the floor does high damage magic attacks. It took me a good amount of time, energy, and grinding to beat her and this was pretty much the only roadblock I faced. Every other time I failed was just because I was too uppity to use enemys to get through the level, without realizing it was both easier and 更多 worth my time to do so. That was the final boss… 或者 what I thought was the final boss.
(SPOILERS FOR GRAFFITI KINGDOM)
So the fight with The Devil sucks. It is a two phase fight and it isn’t even that hard. In fact it’s pathetically easy. But the reason it becomes so much harder is because of the slow down. Graffiti Kingdom has an issue with slow down in some boss fights, but this is where it really hit its peak. Because of the constant barrage of bullshit the Devil throws at 你 mixed with the little minions, The Devil becomes this doable fight into an incredibly annoying one. I can’t stop getting killed 由 easy to dodge attacks because the slow down is so bad. I honestly think I glitched him out during the 秒 phase which is why I was able to beat him. Because otherwise, I would not have been able to. Thankfully, the real final boss is nowhere near as annoying. It’s a challenge, for sure, having three phases, but it is 更多 managable and even kinda fun. And if 你 die, 你 don’t have to fight The Devil again, so 支持 for that. So technically, I cannot give this game the bonus award of Bad Final Boss because the real final boss is pretty alright. Consider yourself lucky, Graffiti Kingdom.
(END OF SPOILERS)
So that’s Graffiti Kingdom. It’s a decent kids game that I had fun with. A reasonable five hours to spend playing the game. Now is it worth $50… fuck no! Raidou Kuzunoha had some jank to it, but it was a fun game and with it being almost thirty hours, I’d say it was worth the price. Killer7, at leat on the Gamecube, is such a bizarre experience that I’d say it was worth $60, though minigated now that it’s on Steam for $20. Graffiti Kingdom is fun, but aside from the addictive drawing mechanic, it’s really not worth an insane price that it has. It is a five 小时 game, can be beaten in a 日 if 你 know what you’re doing, and it’s story is cute at best and forgettable at worst. It is far from being worth those prices, but worse games have been sold for much, much higher. If 你 can get this game for cheap, I’d say give it a try. I wouldn’t say go out and get it for the insane price people are peddling it for. It certainly ain’t worth it. I only bought it for a crazy price because…. I mean come on, I review PS2 games. 你 really think I’m using that money for something useful like paying bills 或者 getting car insurance. What are you, crazy? So with that, I give the game the Award of Simple But Clean. Inoffensive, charming, but nothing too mind blowing. The drawing mechanic and playing with your creations is a ton of fun, but other than that, it’s a simple JRPG. Fun, but nothing too crazy and certainly won’t be a high priority for you.

It’s the 万圣节前夕 season again, a time to walk around my local town like a creep, traumatize children with my stupid antics, and also talk about 电影院 that critics hate but has a passionate fandom surrounding them, 或者 at the very least, the general audiences hate. But that isn’t the case with our first film (The first introductee to Cultober II and I’ve already lied to everyone). A classic among horror fans, and even Michael Jackson himself, who took inspiration from the film to work into his own 音乐 video for Thriller, one of the most 流行的 音乐 视频 of all time. That’s right,...

你 know what’s a setting that indie developers really seem to like? The cyberpunk genre. I’m not complaining, I 爱情 that stuff too. But I have like three games played that are cyberpunk, and I am pretty sure I have 更多 waiting to be played that are also taking place in that setting. And naturally, I thought I would review the one I played first on here before the others. And low and behold, it is one that many people have talked about before, VA-11 HALL-A, pronounced Valhalla.

VA-11 HALL-A is set in a cyberpunk world, where corporations decide the fate of humans, where everyone...

Oh yeah, it’s time to talk about some character action games, some of the best of the medium, and what better one to start with than the king of them all, Devil May Cry. 或者 rather, the first one, the weird one where Dante was clearly a Blade 或者 Neo rip-off and the camera sucked a dick. Regardless, still an incredibly fun game.
Devil May Cry follows Dante as he goes to kill demon king Mundus on a secluded island consisting of marionettes, shadow beasts, Nelo Angelos and also something about him wanting to fuck a look-a-like of his mother. Allegedly wants to fuck his mother, granted. Now,...

Well, here’s the first of many, many, MANY 蚱蜢 video games that will appear on this list. I’m a big 粉丝 of the niche, what can I say? So being one of the later games from their 图书馆 that I played, I only saw a few pictures of it and knew it was a 蚱蜢 game. Needless to say, I was sold on the game. And despite it all, I was happy for what I got. Cause damn, Killer is Dead is probably one of the nicer to play 蚱蜢 games out there.
Now, sadly, I never got to finish all the side stuff in this game and didn’t get to experiment with the game much, so sadly, I can’t...

Now, I’ve probably 迷失 some credibility among the highterups of the horror community for liking the gorefests that are slasher films. Now allow me to sullididate my place as being a shitbag in the horror community with no chance of ever taken seriously again. Along with slasher films, I also like zombie films. Granted, to a lesser extent to slasher villains. At least there’s some creativity to slasher villains, while most zombies are just the same. But thankfully, we’ll be looking at a film that does things a little differently. That film would be 1985’s Return of the Living Dead.

Well, here is a film I was never too proud of when I first watched it. I remember watching this film back in middle school. I heard it was among some of the best slasher films out there, alongside Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, and Texas Chainsaw Massacre. And yet, when I watched it, I thought it was really lame and overrated and couldn’t understand what people saw in it. But, after watching this movie years later, and getting a new idea on it, what do I think about it now? Well, on Cultober, let’s take a look at the 1996 slasher classic, Scream

No 更多 超能英雄 2 does things… differently from the first game. Gone is the overworld to explore. Gone is the unique enemies of every level. Gone is the chance to collect trading cards. And gone is fun mini-games. But hey, at least now we have some pretty cool bosses… For the most part. While No 更多 超能英雄 2 definitely falls behind the first No 更多 超能英雄 in some instances, it makes up in others, such as story, music, and even some bosses. And with the addition of fifteen bosses in the game, it makes sense that there would be some great bosses… And some stinkers too. So that is what...

你 know, though I have been reviewing horror games for a while now, it’s been awhile since I reviewed a horror, 或者 at least, a horror-themed rail shooter. The last one being a 年 ago, and that was… Rock of the Dead. Kind of regretting my look on that game, to be honest. Which is weird, because there are a few good horror rail shooters out there. Hell, House of the Dead was made on that premise. That and bad voice acting. But hey, speaking of bad voice acting, Resident Evil is a pretty good horror game franchise. (What a shitty segway). So, when 你 put the two together, what do 你 get?...
