Hasn't anyone else really noticed that Twilight may be going a little overboard? It just seems that with all the attention and merchandise and whatnot, it's becoming 更多 like another High School Musical movie.
Not Good.
Now that New Moon is coming, all these actors and musicians want to part of all the hype.
I just wish that Twilight stayed it's small Indie film. That's what I loved most about it was that they got a lot of actors that hardly anyone knew.
I knew who Cam, Edi, Rob, Kristen, Taylor, Billy Burk, Kellen, Nikki were before Twilight.
But what about 你 guys?
There's a ton of people that I talk to that admit they really didn't know about them which was what I loved. 你 didn't need the bigger, 更多 well-known actors to make a good movie.
Also with the New Moon soundtrack there's been crap going around about the Jonas Brothers and 麦当娜 possibly having a song on there.
I DON'T WANT THAT.
Jonas Brothers defiantly not.
Jobros+Twilight=epic fail.
And Madonna? Are 你 kidding?
I loved the Twilight soundtrack because, like the actors, there were a lot of bands on there that I've never really heard of [besides Muse, Linkin Park, 帕拉摩尔 and Rob]. It gave me a chance to recognize new bands and it just fit with the movie.
It's just before everything broke loose, I felt special for being one of the few proud Twilighters that have been with the book and movie from the start. Following along with anything new.
What about the rest of 你 real Twilighters?
Do 你 remember being excited hearing they were making a movie? Did 你 really care who was in it as long as they were even making a movie? What about the first Amy Howe 照片或者 when Twilight Tuesdays first started?
Most of 你 DID care about who was going to be in the movie but a true 粉丝 wouldn't. True 粉丝 know that 图书 and the 电影院 are never going to be exactly the same and should still support it because they are a FAN.
Even Rob 说 that it's the true 粉丝 that really care don't mind how horrible everything turns out just as long as they stay true to the original story.
I probably got way off topic every now and then, but these are just my thoughts that have been bugging me.

mandapanda I agreed with about everything you said. All the Twilight Merchandise has gone way overboard... T-shirts I thought were fine, but the pjs to the body glitter just crossed the line. And I am also proud to be a twilighter that was here from the beginning. haha, the Amy Howe photos. Ah yes. I was so excited when those were posted I remember. The journey through the fandom actually. First it was filming, then comic-con, then breaking dawn, then the sountrack, then the movie. Crazy-Chica I thought the band-aids were a bit much, but I cant help but love anything that's twilight.

Twilight597 i agree but just out of curiosity wats Twilight Tuesdays? people have gone way over board with this and i REALLY dont want the jonas brothers on the soundtrack id like it more if a lower band (but the best in my opinion) is on like paramore or muse

kateliness2 I honestly never expected the Twilight movie to stay small or indie. I knew it would become a huge phenomenon, just as the book did. I'm not going to pretend that I was with the book from the beginning. I noticed it right away at a bookstore when it came out in 2005, but I thought it sounded stupid and put it away. I didn't end up reading it until the beginning of 2008. I didn't know there was going to be a movie, but so many of my friends were obsessed, I felt the need to read it. That was a bit off topic, but I agree that even for a commercial film, it has gone too far. Twilight action figures not only crosses the creepy line, it soars over it. Isn't the target pre-teen and teen girls? And the Jonas Brothers grind my gears whether they are singing for Twilight or anything else. I don't know if I have a point. I suppose, to summarize: I agree that it has gone too far, but I was expecting it :)

mandapanda MTV promised the Twilight community to provide us with new info of the Twilight Universe with interviews, updates, etc... every tuesday since the movie was in production.

dinosteph I want the bandaids though... When I first heard about the movie I was super excited. When I saw the first pictures, and seen who was casted, I was a little taken back, It wasn't what I thought Edward and Bella would look like, but eventually none of it mattered, what mattered was that my favorite book was being made into a movie, and as long as the story was told, I was happy. I loved the movie regardless, It won't ever be as good as the book, but it was a nice visual to go along with the story. I remember reading on Perez about Vanessa Hudgens and Brenda Song being rumored to be in the movie, and I pretty much threw a fit, I refused to be any part of it. I love the fact that it was a low key - low budget film, it made it all the more special to me. I don't care about effects, or famous names. I cared about the story being told, and they did a good job with the movie. I love the characters they have formed on screen, and don't want to see it get blown out of proportion. Madonna and the Jonas brothers have no business being a part of this. Although I do have to admit, that I was okay when they suggested Dakota Fanning for the part of Jane. Dakota is an amazing actress, and I think she could do the part well. Either way, I love the twilight universe, I just think it should stay the way it is.

mrsblack_1089 I honestly knew NONE of the actors before they were cast. Not even Taylor, though when I googled him to see who the heck he was, I knew instantly. And it's sad, but Twilight was never going to stay small. =( WE WERE HERE FIRST; WE READ THE BOOKS, WE WAITED IN AGONY FOR THE MOVIE AND BREAKING DAWN. We were here FIRST!!! Now after seeing the movie, anyone can wear a Twilight T-shirt and act like they're totally dedicated, even though most of them have never even picked up the book in the first place! It's not a real passion, just a way to fit in nowadays. And ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! JONAS BROTHERS?! MADONNA??!!! Twilight became my favorite CD because it was all new material for me! I'm a complete music geek; I always try out new, weird stuff. The only 2 bands I knew on the soundtrack were Linkin Park and Paramore. So I've gained some new favorite artists throughout this whole experiance, too. The merchandice hasn't bugged me yet. I'd say, yes, if I saw body glitter, I'd freak. But so far nothing. I have a calender, a few shirts, some buttons, some keychains, and even a few packs of trading cards. (even though I see no point in the cards, it's still fun to pull them out and look at some of the scenes before the movie comes out) I like to meet new people and talk to them about Twilight. Seriously, anyone wearing a Twilight T-shirt in the mall will grab my attention and I'll walk up to them and we'll talk! There are definetly some benefits of Twilight growing, like introducing more people to reading and being passionate about something other than a rock band or TV show. One thing I can't stand is how all the cheesy celebrity magazines are tuning into Twilight now, getting 'deets' and 'hot pics' of the stars in Twilight. UGH! It's over the top, sparkly, cheesy, fake enthusiasm for those who are only fans of the 'hot stars' and NOT of reading the original, fabulous story. So in summary, I think there are ups and downs of Twilight being so extensive. Sorry, that was an epiphany!! <=)

SaveMe620 See, I totally agree with all of your comments. There are the ups and downs of Twilight growing, but like you said mrsblack_1089, "anyone can wear a Twilight T-shirt and act like they're totally dedicated," which really bugs me to no end. And thanks by the way. x)

katlynncore true true! i didn't care what they did, as long as they had the important scenes and as long as they didn't completely screw it up. i also really didn't care who was going to be in the movie when it first came out. i just wanted to see it in theaters. i think it is lame that all these actors are trying to get in the movie and i'm pretty sure it's just for the big money that it's expected to make. the whole jonas bros./madonna stuff it so lame. how the jonas bros can honestly think that their music would fit in with "new moon" is beyond me. and madonna? come on lady, just stay away from anything to do with vampires. it doesn't work. another thing that just doesn't work are those stupid dolls. could anything get any lamer? i mean, i love edward, but i don't want him in a doll form on my desk. it kind of ruins the magic of the series to see the miniature versions of the actors and it cheapens it up. i'm sure if there wasn't so much hype about it, there wouldn't be as many avid haters of the series.

foreveryours OMFG i totally agree with you!!! everything you said is totally true i want it to stay the way it is justin timberlake is also trying out for a part... BLOODY HELL this is going to become such a cheap shit disney flick if they say yes to all that i mean, the only reason they want to be in that movie is because of the money not because of the fans, not because of the actual story they only care about their image i swear, if the jonas brothers even stick one little finger out to new moon, i'm going to set up a huge internet boycott to make sure it becomes a total flunk

pixie09 i have only been with the saga since the beginning of 2008, my friend got me into them, (omg i love that girl :p) and remember watching the same youtube fanmade clips about anything to do with twilight again and again, and i got soo excited if there was something new on the next day lol. i dragged mum to the nearest shop after school on the release day so i could buy breaking dawn, she thought i was carzy .. :p but i do agree with all of you. a girl from school went to see the movie before reading twilight. now she is reading new moon and she didnt bother reading the first book coz, and i quote 'what is the point? i have seen the movie...' and she thinks that she is the biggest fan ever !!!??? and im not going to say much about the jonas brothers. i no lots of people like them and i dont want to offend anyone ... but joe jonas and his voice teamed up with vampires and heart break ?? what has gotten into these people !!?? and madonna ..well ye enough said. i guess it is a good thing that they got enough money to make the next movie (not that i ever doubted that they would) but i hate all the plastic hyp. i loved that they played rob as edward, he was my fav boy in the 4th harry potter, and i knew kirstins face from into the wild, didnt know her name tho lol. and i dont think that this is a very good order, my thoughts ran a bit off topic at some points, and congrats if you lasted this long :p

vampiress015 To be honest, I'm not that fussed about all the hype. Over here in the UK the only merchandise you can buy is a Twilight poster from Borders. Personally I'm just glad that they're making another film, and if it didn't matter to anyone who was in the film last time then why should it matter now? I remember Twilight Tuesdays, lol, I always got a little bit over-excited. And I remember that when I watched a video from comic-con the scremaing hurt my ears- badly. Does anyone remember the week leading up to that film festival where they were showing the Meet the Cullen's scene? Everyone got so excited, it was awesome. I don't really mind that some people only became fans after the films either, the same happend with Harry Potter, all it means it that there are more people to talk about Twilight with, and that can't be bad, can it? All in all I think the hype is good, it must be amazing for Stephanie Meyer!

I just don't think that they should be taking advantage of all the popularity by thinking it's okay to have "better actors"

vampiress015 I think most of the celebs are just saying that they want to be in the film to get the publicity- I mean most of them haven't even read it. I don't think the casting director would hire them anyway, especially if it's the same person, well, they'd have the same ideas in their head, wouldn't they? But yeah, I don't think it matters who's in the next film, just as long as they do a good portrayal of the character. If they weren't good actors then how did they get so famous? When they first announced that they were going to make New Moon fans wanted Johnny Depp to play Aro. It's not the actors that bother me- just the one's that 'want' to be in the movie just to get a week's publicity or something.

AnnabethChase Ugh, you are totally right. I hate it, the other day I was in a local corner store and they had TWILIGHT BACKPACKS. Those small, glossy kind. And then there's the dolls...ugh. It's like Twilight is the new Hannah Montana for companies. Next thing you know, most of the shelves in stores will be covered with (mostly) cheesy Twilight merchandise. I hate the fact that so many people think that for a movie to be big, it has to have big stars. If you ask me, that just makes it a whole lot worse. I knew of Rob, Taylor and Kristen before Twilight came out. I'm not ashamed to admit I didn't know the rest. But that just made me love it more. I really hope it doesn't get any worse than it is. (The HSM issue, I mean.) Wow, did I make any sense? xD
