Now May was a really good character. She was adorable, beautiful, funny, entertaining, sweet, she knew when to get angry, she was an amazing trainer, she went threw her hard times, she was brave, and she was the first Pokegirl who really had a misson. It was really fun and entertaining watching her do her Contests.

Haruka-chan was amazing even though I seemed to have my times with her.

ya may is pretty cool and on my cable i can watch pokemon episodes with may in it but really i luv all of the female people with ash and brock (or other dudes)

She's ANNOYING! All she did was whine, complain, and go on about her little "May Expaditions". I Just wanted to punch her repeatable and tell her to SHUT UP! She really has nothing going for her besides her pretty face and she's not even that pretty. There's no point to her. She's one of the worst characters on the show and is a pathetic excuse for a character.

Wrong! She is the BEST along with Dawn and Iris!

Because we went five seasons without those meaningless contests, there was no reason to suddenly create them just so Misty lovers wouldn't find May so pathetic and pointless. Didn't do them any better if you ask me. Besides Misty might not have been in any contests but she actually had more of a point and purpose than May or Dawn. Whenever Ash had doubts about himself after her words he always went back to his normal self. However even when May or Dawn try he never really listened. Also whenever the group was having problems she was always the one who pulled the group together, got them to stop whining, and actually get through the problem. Ash maybe the main protagonist but she's basically the leader of the group.

KataraLover: Contests were added to change the story line, frankly it was boring just watching the same thing all the time. Contests added a new style to the show, so now you see two types of battles and two journeys. How Misty solved a problem was with yelling and hitting them. May and Dawn were calm about it and acted how real friends should act. Trying to make him feel better, while Misty just told him what to do. Also Dawn, actually cheered Ash on. May and Misty did it in their own way, but half the time it was to themselves or in Misty's case yelling at him. Actually I remember a few times when Misty was saying he didn't have a chance of winning, then he ends up winning.

She only says that when he really doesn't have much of a chance. Misty does all that stuff because being gentle about it doesn't make it through to him. He keeps moping about it. With Misty she shows tough love which sometimes is the most effective way of doing it. She's brutel but honest. I love Ash but he's thick headed, stubborn, and stupid. Obviously she had to be hard on him, especially since his mom babied him. Being hard on him made him want to prove he could do it. She knew that and that's why she did it. That's how they work. It's like a wife being hard on her husband to help him be the man he wants to be and she believes he will be.

I am all for tough love, but only if it's done right. Like how Gary did it with him. He picked on him, but in a teasing friendly way. Which got Ash going and got him training. Paul was a little tougher, but he was calm about it. The way Misty does it, just seems more like picking and being mean to him. Just telling him what to do and acting like she knows best. When half the time, Ash wins by using his own choises. If Misty was more like Sakura (Naruto), like you could tell what she was thinking as she's yelling, I might like her. But I only ever seen her yell and I never see a good reason for her to do it. You can only guess what she is thinking. I know she likes Ash, but to me I think a friend should be calmer and gentle about it. I liked how May and Dawn were trying to help him, in a friendly way and let him make his own chooses. But there were still there for him when he needed a gentle push in the right direction. Brock told them they just had to let him do it on his pace and think about it.

Think! Why would Misty's way of doing things with Ash be different than Dawn and May's? Why does Ash always do things better after Misty talks to him? Try to fill in the pieces because the reason is painfully obvious.

I'm not stupid, I know Misty loves him. 4kids changed it, making more Pokeshipping hints. In Japanese there isn't any, it's really different. That's probably why I prefer the subs for Pokemon, because the dub didn't mess up how it was suppost to be.

Not just Misty, Ash too. ;)

Sorry, but I really don't think Ash has a crush on any of the characters. Subs or Dubs. Also I wasn't trying to talk about the pairings, and see no reason to judge a character because of pairings.

Just so you don't think my opinion is biased, I personally don't care who Ash ends up with. I'm not too fond of Misty and Dawn wasn't as amazing as people made her out to be I think, but I just kind of always had a problem with May. She whined a lot and seemed to always pick a fight. Don't get me wrong, she was a great character in general, I just think the ways she chose to react to certain situations was a bit wack. Hate me all you want, that's just how I feel.
