Kowalski was looking around the zoo. He was inspecting the zoo on his own. He saw a shadowy figure in a hooded sweater 由 the zoo gates. The figure seemed to be crying. It was a bit tough, but Kowalski recognized the hooded figure to be Monique.
Kowalski called her out, but she just ran away. She knew it was Kowalski, but it was obvious that she didn't feel like talking. That didn't stop Kowalski from going after her, though.
