There can't be a new series because Twi left and the portal close, and will stay that way for a long time. This was just something extra so twi can get use to being a princess, plus they needed to make something to make waiting for the 下一个 season less painful.

你 all clearly shouldnt be talking twi went through the portal and became a 小马 again and the portal closed because the human pinky pie ran into it while trying to go through. the moon sealed it there was that pretty flash. twilight stayed in her regular dimension and there is a season 4.
