Get ready, horror fans, because 2016 is going to be one thrilling year! With the new year comes a slew of new, scary movies. While some months don’t have any horror films due to be released — we’re talking about you, March! — and information regarding official release dates towards the later half of the year are scarce, it’s clear 2016 is going to be a blockbuster year for horror films. Below are 16 films scheduled to come out this year, which is enough nail-bitting features sure to scare even the biggest horror junkies.

Yes, dolls are very scary and “The Boy” will prove it. The William Brent Bell film follows Greta (Lauren Cohan), an American nanny who is recruited to care for an English couple’s son. The only problem? Their son is a life-sized doll … or is he? 

The highly anticipated film is based on Seth Grahame-Smith\'s book, which is a retelling of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice.” The twisted tale follows couples from different class systems in 19th century England as they fight for their love and survival. Lily James and Lena Headey star.

A young woman documents her family in quarantine after a virus traps them and infects her sister. 

Whose afraid of the big, bad witch? A 16th century witch tortures a family with magic.

Kiss your sweet dreams goodbye! This Johannes Roberts’ film follows a grieving mother who uses an ancient ritual to say goodbye to her late son, upsetting the delicate balance of life and death.

Horror fans are getting another installment of the Amityville horror story in 2016, thanks to director Franck Khalfoun. This installment will follow a single mother (Jennifer Jason Leigh) who moves into the haunted abode to care for her sick son (Cameron Monaghan), unknowing of its deadly past. Bella Thorne also stars.

Jason Vorrhees is back to haunt your dreams. The 2016 installment is directed by David Bruckner. 

Patrick Wilson and Vera Fermiga are back as Lorraine and Ed Warren in the second installment of “The Conjuring.” The sequel will follow the Hudgson family in Enfield, London, as they battle supernatural forces in their home.

Just when you thought when you’d see the end of the fictional purge, it’s coming back for a third time. James DeManco is back in the director’s chair for this sequel.

Teens discover that breaking into a blind man’s (Stephen Lang) home isn’t the best idea. “Prisoners” and “Goosebumps” actor Dylan Minnette stars.

You may want to sleep with the lights on after catching this creepy flick, which follows a woman who is terrorized by a creature in the dark. Teresa Palmer stars.

Things get too close for comfort for one couple when their surrogate becomes obsessed with the dad-to-be in this dramatic thriller. 

Kate Beckinsale returns for the next installment in the “Underworld” franchise. “Divergent” fans will want to take note that Theo James plays David in the film.

Just when you thought the classic board game couldn’t get any scarier, director Mike Flanagan brings us a sequel to the 2014 horror film.
