The American Civil War
We begin this fateful tale on June 30th 1863; on the eve of the Battle of Gettysburg, known as the most gruesome battle to have ever taken place on American soil. A time when two factions of American brothers fought a cruel and terrible war for freedom.
The Union; fighting to put an absolute end to slavery, were primarily made up of the Northern states.
The Confederacy; fighting for their own freedom from the Union, and the ability to govern themselves in a democracy born anew. The Rebels were mostly from the Southern states, where slavery was still legal and commonly practiced.
