dylin1 picked Voldemort would have brainwashed him and made his most faithful Death Eater:
Harry would have already been brainwashed with a Slytherin attitude, so he might end up being more oblivious. It doesn't make sense though, because Voldemort killed Harry's parents. But, the almighty Voldemort has that kind of awesome power, so ya! I'm personally on Voldemort's team! DEATH EATERS all the way!

That would never happen though. He ASKED to be in Gryffindor, so he obviously shouldn't be in Slytherin.

But that's kinda the whole point, he WOULDN't have been put in Slytherin, cuz he would have hated it there... he most definetly would not have turned evil, cuz he wouldn't be able to just forget how his parents died...
He would probs try to make friends w/ the same kind of ppl that he did, but it would be alot harder, cuz he would be a Slytherin, so they wouldn't want to have anything to do with him...

I know! Personally I think that there wouldn't be more than 1 Potter book if he was in Slytherin. I was just wondering how people will answer this :)

ShadowRocksxxx picked He would have defeated Voldemort anyway:
one of the main points of the book is that harry chooses not to be in slytherin, that no matter how amny times voldemort - or someone else - tries to tempt him into the dark side, he won't go; and thats what makes him a gryffindor. so he wouldn't have been in slytherin and he would have stayed the same person if he was in slytherin.

but i do like this pick; its interesting, and i don't mean that in a tactful way :)

He would have been lonely. He wouldn't have made friends with Draco, after the fiasco on the train. He might leave.

The Sorting Hat only considered him for Slytherin because of his being a Horcrux. On his own, he is a true Gryffindor, no doubt about that. He CHOSE Gryffindor. He was able to pull Godric Gryffindor's sword from the Sorting Hat when he fought the basilisk. As Dumbledore said, "only a true Gryffindor could have pulled that out of the hat." I rest my case.
