The new Dumbledore was horrible in the 3rd and 4th movie (shaking Harry and scaring the heck out of him when he was already in shock? SO not Dumbledore!). Although I did like him in the 5th one. I'm hoping for the best for the 6th one. The old Dumbledore was perfect though :)

i like the new one a lot better bacause he does look a lot stronger and the other guy didnt even have a strong voice and he just whispered and he seemed so fragile, the new guy is better. period.

And, for me that I'm not English, new Dumbledore is more difficult to understand, he doesn't speak as clear as Richard Harris.

I think old Dumbledore was better because I consider Dumbledore's personality and wisdom to be more important to the character than the fact that he's meant to be powerfull.
Still the original Dumbledore had the mental side of the character acted well but seemed too feeble to be believably intimidating to Voldemort, but new Dumbldore has believable stregnth but doesn't portray the personality or wisdom right. He just strikes me as an angry old man, nothing special about him. He doesn't have the personality or wisdom he'd need to get people to follow him and care for him the way they do in the books.

No, I think the old one was way too lame... He was just...like,I don't know, an old, old man... He looked like he could die every moment...Which he did after the 2nd movie (rest in peace)... The new one, M.Gambon, now he's a real Dumbledore...He has this strength, and even though people say he didn't portray Dumbledore's character well, as if being all giddy and funny, I think that the 6th movie will bring that, too...However I think his character should be established as a mature and strong person who maybe has a flew or two, but who knows what he's doing and how he's doing it...

Again i'll have to agree with Spikes_girl, the new dumbledore is completely WRONG!!!! He wud NEVER EVER slam harry against the trophy case and shake him like he did in GOF. An he looks scruffy! no silver beard just dirty grey and the dirt under his finger nails......ewh!!! And the most used description of Dumbledore in the books is of his Sparkling eyes, this dumbledore has none of the warmth he is supposed to have, he isn't calm nor collected and changes from and english to irish to scottish accent continuosly, so annoying,
As for being strong.........Dumbledore is supposed to command all attention yet when he was at harry's hearing he was more a mouse than a man, speaking weakly and 'begging fudge to c reason', he never makes any little jokes or does anything quirky like he should, why have the ppl making the films chanced him so drastically??
Though it appears that Michael Gambon has now read the books......hooray! and he did redeem himself at the end of OOTP and hopefully all will be well with HBP. if the death scene is ruined i will be gutted, ppl need to actually care that this dumbledore is going to die so he better not b throwin harry around this time lol

The old one is the perfect Dumbledore.He looks old but but whenever he stands or speaks, he commands attention.He exudes power from within and yet he still look fun-loving and understanding.
Now the new one, is totally something else.He always look way too serious, always mad and always rushing!!

The old Dumbledore had this wisedom and calmth over him. Just as I imagined Dumbledore.

Everyones argument for Gambon is pretty much that he looks stronger and talks faster. Looking the part does not mean they are better at the part. Johnny Depp does not look at all like Edward D. Wood Jr. but I can not see anyone else playing the part, because he is a better ACTOR!!! Acting is the most important part of... ACTING... far outstripping the appearence.
