How did Dumbledore know that Wormtail would feel regret?

In The Prisoner of Azkaban, Dumbledore says...

‘Pettigrew owes his life to you. 你 have sent Voldemort a deputy who is in your debt. When one
wizard saves another wizard’s life, it creates a certain bond between them … and I’m much mistaken if
Voldemort wants his servant in the debt of Harry Potter.’
‘I don’t want a bond with Pettigrew!’ 说 Harry. ‘He betrayed my parents!’
‘This is magic at its deepest, its most impenetrable, Harry. But trust me … the time may come when you
will be very glad 你 saved Pettigrew’s life.’

That is what Harry is talking about. Dumbledore knew that the time would come when Harry would be glad he saved Pettigrew's life.

because he's a genius ... and of course because he knew him for a really long time. And it wasn't that hard to guess ... even I would know it I think ...

Dumbledore is like, semi-omnipotent

Just like Dumbledore predicted alot of things with people in the books...yes he was a genius...but he knew them growing up 或者 watching them as students. Peter was good, and loved his friends, but fear changes people. No one ever knew how Voldemort got to Peter to make him become a Death Eater.
