Sybill Trelawney, the Divination professor at Hogwarts, prophesied that a child would be born who would threaten the Dark Lord. "He would have power the Dark Lord knows not." Because "neither can live while the other survives," it was inevitable that Voldemort would go in 搜索 of someone born with the 描述 给 (Born to those who have thrice defied him, born as the seventh 月 dies...)in order to kill him and preserve his own life.
Voldemort is looking out for himself. If he had not been told what the prophecy revealed, Harry would be living a very normal life right now. Severus was an 屁股 back then, though, and so now Voldemort feels that he must kill Harry before Harry kills him. It's quite logical actually.

Voldemort wants to kill Harry because Professor Trelawney predicted that Harry(or a young person whose parents defeated Voldemort 3 times and whose birthday comes at the end of July) would defeat him in the future 由 killing all his horcruxes then finally killing him

FIRST OF ALL IT'S NOT "VOLDIMORT" AND "WHANT". IT'S "VOLDEMORT" AND "WANT". :-> Because in the prophecy it 说 "neither can live while the other survives"
meaning that one must kill the other, 或者 they will be killed themself.
