Dear Stephenie Meyer,
First I would like to thank 你 for taking the time to read my letter. It means a lot to me. In this letter, I would like to explain why I do not like the Twilight series and how it did have room for improvment.
The main problem I had with the series is how Bella and Edward's 爱情 is shown to be ideal, when in fact, it's unhealthy. Throughout the books, we do not get any insight on their hobbies and likes/dislikes. The problem with this is that we do not know if Edward 或者 Bella share any common interests to be considered perfect for each other. In fact, they only had four conversations before they both decided they were in love. In real life, 爱情 does not happen that way. Yes, couples do sometimes meet randomly, but they do not immiedatly decide they are perfect for each other. Edward is also a very abusive partner. He doesn't let Bella make any decisions and often 婴儿 her. He is inhumanly strong, so she is forced to go along with him. An example of this would be when he threatned to take her back to the car, when she clearly did not want to. He also seems to not care about her opinions which is shown in Breaking Dawn. He stated that the only reason he's letting Bella have this child is because Rosalie loves children. Doesn't Bella have opinions too? What if she still wanted the child, when Rosalie didn't? Would he listen to her? Although it's for her well-being, she gets a say because it's Bella that's having the child, not Edward. Another problem is that Edward watches Bella while she sleeps and follows her around. 你 could say this is because he cares for and wants to protect her, but this is after having four conversations. This is teaching many young girls that the ideal partner will do the same for them, but in reality, those people are stalkers who are probably in jail. 你 have compared Bella and Edward's relationship to be like Romeo and Juliet. Shakespeare wrote that play to mock teenage hormones and what stupid decisions they make. Which brings me to the point that Edward and Bella do not like each other for their personalities. Why does Edward like Bella? He 说 that she smells good and he's curious as to why he can't hear her thoughts. Why does Bella like Edward? In every book she describes his beauty. Never did they mention each other's characteristics that they are attracted to.
I also have a bit of a problem with how Bella treats her friends. In book one, they invite her to sit with them. Mike invites her to La Push and everyone is friendly. Bella didn't think much of it, forgetting their names the 秒 they were 说 and feeling irritated. Bella 说 she didn't have many 老友记 before, so wouldn't she be thrilled that someone is actually paying attention to her? The 秒 Edward starts paying attention to her, she completley forgets about them. In book two, when he leaves, she doesn't talk, eat, her grades drop. The world ends. The only reason she decided to talk to Jessica was because Charlie told her to. She, after behaving horribly and not 表演 like a good friend, expects Jessica to be there for her and blames Jessica for 表演 like a horrible friend. Why would it be Jessica's fault? She was ticked off that Bella ignored her for about 4-6 months! In book three, Bella describes the graduation to be boring and irritating, when in fact, it's the proudest moment 你 could ever have. She also decides to barely talk to her 老友记 and give all her attention to Edward. I have not fallen in 爱情 yet, but I am fully aware of that the fact that people do not ditch their 老友记 once they have found their missing piece.
Lots of people accuse Twilight of being anti-feminist and I have to agree. Bella is incapable of doing anything and the only 《勇敢传说》 thing she has done is 'saving' her mother. In every book Edward is there to save her somehow. In book one, she would have died , but Edward showed up. I do give her 支持 for delaying her death, but otherwise, she is very weak. In book two, she goes through emotional problems. She, again, is able to do nothing until a Jacob helps. In book three, helps a little, but still leans on Jacob and Edward. She also doesn't make any decisions for herself. What she does for fun is cook and clean, but girls these days are independent. We have 更多 hobbies than doing chores for our fathers.
Also, nothing troubling happens in the series. The 苹果 on the book is representing "forbidden love." The only thing that is not possible in the relationship is that Edward is a vampire, but Bella is not. This problem is a very simple one and can get solved easily. She wants to become one, but Edward thinks it's unsafe. Through the series they face James, Volturi, Laurent, and Victoria. The Cullens are described to be very smart. In book three, they killed a new born army. Why did they make a complicated plan just to kill James? It was highly unreasonable and they put many lives at stake. James was not very powerful. It was seven against one. No one had any casualties except James. Book two, Laurent got killed easily and Jacob was not injured. The Volturi let them off. Book three, I do understand the 吸血鬼 were NOT trained, but honestly. They should/could have faced a few injuries and/or deaths (not just Jacob.) In book four, they talk it out. Yes, deaths do make many series sad and sometimes unbearable to read, but that is what makes something memorable. In real life, many people have to make sacrifices and they give their lives to something they believe in. Happy endings do exist, but a lot of stuggle is behind it.
Jacob was one of my 最喜爱的 characters. He always wanted the best for Bella and I really liked how he did seem to genuinly care about her. However, in book four, he became a pedophile. I know that 你 can imprint on anyone and it would be okay, but it is very sick and twisted when a 17 年 old falls in 爱情 with a newborn. Jacob 说 he'd be an adult figure and then later, when she's old enough, he'd be a love-interest. This is another thing that breaks the law. Child grooming. Child grooming is taking care of a child as if they are your own until they become older and trust you, then 表演 like a romantic interest. This child will believe 你 because 你 have been in their lives from since they were born. Jacob being a 邪恶力量 being does not excuse this horrible fact.
Many writers had a problem with your 写作 style. 你 used something a writer calls, "purple prose." This is when 你 use bigger words to make the sentence seem 更多 educated. It ruins a simple sentence and makes sentences very odd to read. Another problem is with your main character, Bella Swan. She is accused of being a mary-sue. This is a term for a perfect character. Nothing bad happens to this character, everything mean/rude they say is justified, they are beautiful and 更多 than one person is in 爱情 with them, they have a troubled past that they cannot forget, they have many friends, their significant other is incredibly handsome - someone who everyone lusts after, and most of the time, they have an amazing ability. Nothing bad happens to this character - Yes, Bella does go through a lot of problems with the antagonists, but these problems are solved quickly. She does not go through any inner struggle to gain happiness. Everything mean they say is justified - Bella is rude to Jessica, but Bella is shown in better light. She lashes out on Charlie, but he forgives her without an explanation. Yeah, she only gets to spend time with Edward 'till 6pm, but that's not a punishment. She went to Italy without his permissions just to save the boy who broke her 心 causing her to be in severe trauma. Unexcusable. She yells at Jacob, but Jacob is okay with it and believes he deserves it. They are beautiful and 更多 than one person is in 爱情 with them - Bella is described to be an average Jane. So why do Mike, Tyler, Eric, Jacob, and Edward all 爱情 her? In Midnight Sun he even 说 that every guy was having fantasies about her. Why do so many people 爱情 her when she is nothing special? She sounds very annoying when she 回复 'modestly' that she is not beautiful. Why didn't she pick Mike? He was nice to her and supported her. He was worried because Edward was very creepy and anti-social. Why didn't she pick Eric? She described him looking like someone from the chess club. (See? She judges on appearance.) What about Tyler? Okay, so he did almost kill her, but she 说 it was okay. What was wrong with him? He almost killed her! Maybe that's why he didn't leave her back. He wanted to make sure it didn't happen again. No one can forget almost killing someone. They have a troubled past that they cannot forget - Bella was an outcast and she never really had the money. Her mother also is in 爱情 with a guy that Bella doesn't really approve of. Since she was little, she visited Charlie which she described as being a horrible experience. They have many 老友记 - she instantly had many 老友记 from the 日 she arrived. Almost everyone was thinking about her. 你 could say this is because Forks is a small town, but I live in a small town too. Whenever someone new comes (which rarely happens) none of us have open arms. We are all teenagers and have our cliques. We don't like newcomers just barging in. Their significant other is incredibly handsome - someone who everyone lusts after - everyone thinks Edward is very cute, whether they openly admit it 或者 not. They have an amazing ability - Bella is able to control her blood-lust from 日 one. She always felt giddy when she saw blood, so why is that her ability? She also has the most powerful power, being able to shield everyone mentally. Why does she have a 更多 powerful one? The Volturi are the people who keep everything in control, shouldn't they be the 更多 powerful ones?
Many plot holes can be found too. How is Nessie alive? Shouldn't she be dead since she would want to suck out her own blood? Why can't Leah imprint? Why is the time of the 月 considered okay and 'dead blood.' Blood is blood, unless it is dried up. How can Bella get pregant if Edward's body only has venom and he is extrememly cold? On cloudy days, the sun still streams though (otherwise we'd be facing darkness) - so why do they not sparkle then? The sun can't hit something directly otherwise things would be burning everywhere. Sparkly vampires?
Your 吸血鬼 are also differant - this could be counted as creativity. Mythology states them being blood-thirsty, deep, mysterious, sexy, seductive, dangerous .. etc. They do not feel which is why they don't feel much remorse after killing people. That is what makes them very scary, however your 吸血鬼 have powers, sparkle, have the ability to love, are veggiterians (which I found wrong because 动物 aren't thrown in the wild just for eating) etc .. Many differences.
I would like to apologize if this hurt your feelings; for that is not what I was intending to do. I wanted to state the things I and many other people did not like in your series. Contructive criticism is always helpful. Thank 你 for your time,

Draco Luver (not my real name! lol)

First of all, this is MY opinion. If 你 don't agree, that's fine. If 你 do, well great! So here I go.

Bella is a shallow bitch. Why? Well, Edward looks at Bella and thinks "she smells nice" Bella looks at Edward and thinks "OMG He's so hot!" So they're in love. Sorry, I mean they are in lust. It's not love! It's just they enjoy being in love. Bella would 日期 Santa Clause if he was hot!
And then there's the fact when Edward leaves Bella, she goes straight for Jacob who is the 秒 hottest guy in town after moping for four fricken months! I mean moping for 4 weeks is ok. But 4 months...

11 Ways to Use Harry Potter to Annoy a Twilight Fan
Guaranteed to start a shouting match of fantastic proportions...

1. Steal their copy of Twilight and replace it with one of your Harry Potter 图书 in a Twilight dust jacket.

2. Tell them that Edward is a "hand-me-down" because the Twilight 电影院 got him after the Harry Potter 电影院 were finished with him.

3. 列表 other "hand-me-downs" from the books, like the last names of Black and Clearwater...

4. State that 你 think Edward would be hotter if he had a lightning scar on his forehead.

5. "Accidentally"...

Hello, everyone. It's me, teamsalvatore. (Salvy)

So this club is Potter vs. Twilight, Rowling vs. Meyer, Wizards vs. Vampires. I, personally, my opinion, think that Twilight is better than Harry Potter. BUT I think that there are some redundant things in Twilight. And remember, these are ust my opinions:

-Bella's weakness; She's helpless, and turning girls everywhere into weak, spineless idiots. She's making girls everywhere think they need a guy like Edward to protect them.
-Edward's obvious self-hate; He's a non-cutting emo, for crying out loud! A wannabe! We get it, Eddy, 你 don't like yourself....

Okay. I know what 你 are all thinking. Oh no not another Harry Potter vs. Twilight 文章 but yes I am making one because I can. I just want my opinion to be heard. So first off let me 列表 the reasons why children, teens and adults can 爱情 Harry Potter and the good messages that Harry Potter gets across. Harry Potter first of all teaches people about the very special bond between people called friendship. Harry, Hermione and Ron are a perfect example of friendship. They are all with Harry until the very end like they promised. They risk their lives for each other and even though they fight,...

Ok, well I’m getting pretty tired of people saying that Bella and Edward’s relationship is love. It’s not. It’s just lust. Let’s look at the clues:
-She sees him and thinks he’s gorgeous.
-He likes her smell.
-He’s a vampire.
Now, before I start 写作 about these points, I would like to compare the relationship to that of Snape and Lily. Yes, they have never gone out but they didn’t need to. Snape met Lily when they were little. He probably thought she was pretty and developed a crush on her which bloomed into love. When Snape found...

Realised the points have little to do with plot, thus changed the 标题 to errors.

My apologise to Twilight 粉丝 if I'm a little too harsh, but I have reread the 图书 like twice this 月 and it was a little exasperating. Not to worry, I'm currently rereading Harry Potter, so a plothole 列表 on it will be added soon =)

Ok, let's get started:

1.A hundred years of...nothingness?
Explanation: I don't expect science fiction 图书 to be scientifically accurate. But if 你 plan your main character to live 100 years studying in prep forever at the age of 17, make the whole book plausible. No, just saying...

PRO TWILIGHT
I'm not a big Twilight fan, but I can try to come up with some reasons:
1.Bella's emotions are described in depth, leaving no area unexplored. We know exactly how she feels at every second, whether she is gazing at Edward 或者 making noodles. (this could also be a drawback-you can't have a story be completely emotion and no story)
2.Love? Well, Edward and Bella are in a relationship where they...

I made a 列表 of combined and possible plot holes about Harry Potter. Some of them I came up with myself, and some of them I got from different places online. If 你 can give explanation answering the 问题 ,do it please.
I purposely put in a few really really picky 问题 because there are a lot of 文章 about Twilight like this, so I want to see how Harry Potter 粉丝 respond to the ridiculously picks questions. I'm not going to tell 你 which ones they are, but they should be easy to pick out.

95 Reasons Why Twilight Sucks
Opinion 由 BedIntruder 发布 4 hours 以前

1. Bella is a perfect character (“Mary Sue”), which Meyer hides 由 calling her clumsy.
2. Being clumsy is not a flaw if Edward always catches her.
3. She can’t do anything without Edward.
4. And when he leaves she attempts to commit suicide.
5. Meyer is living out her own fantasies 由 写作 about Bella, who is clearly herself.
6. The 图书 aren’t well written, just because every other word is a fancy adjective doesn’t make it good writing.
7. All the rules Meyer sets for being a vampire are broken 由 the end of the...

116. "BTW Twilight is the bestest film ever" I get really frusterated when soomebody compares the films instead off the movies. And whats worse is that 你 arent giving any reasons. "Stop hating, pick-up Twilight, actually read it and 你 will 爱情 it and stop hating Twilight". Has it ever occurred to 你 that twilight haters have read the whole series? Like me? "HP is all around boring and it is made for younger children". I dont understand how Harry Potter can be so boring. Maybe 你 didnt keep up with the amount of action and romance and magic and the mystery. 或者 maybe 你 didnt read...

So, once there was this girl - well, actually that girl still is - but anyway, this girl who we'll call Emma, for the purposes of now. (Well, actually, we'll call her that because it's her name. But 你 get the point.)

Around two, two and a half years ago, when Emma was in sixth grade, one of her 老友记 - let's call her K, if she must have a name - was 阅读 a book that looked rather interesting. It was black, with a shiny hard cover, and had an 苹果 on the front. It was called Houkutus, which translates to Temptation. Emma liked the name and thought it might prove an interesting read, but...

Well I've been 写作 a little fanfic recently and I realized that when I write fanfic, I mostly let my character's handle the plot. Whatever happens to pop in my head at the time, and doesn't go completely against the 总体, 整体 story line, gets put in the fanfic.
But Smeyer says that she wrote Twilight 由 just "letting her characters handle the plot". There 由 making it seem a lot like how, not only I, but other people, write 粉丝 fiction.
I decided to look up some reasons of what makes a good 粉丝 fiction:
"1. Choose the anime/manga/book/video game/movie 你 want your fan-fic to be about." Vampire's...
