So I surfing the web when I ran into one of the pages from this site. It was a 问题 asking which would 你 rather be, a vampire 或者 a wizard? I immediately answered wizard and I added 3 quick reasons why. That was several months 以前 and now I wondered if my answer was reasonable enough. I also read other people's reason and I admit some of them sounded very childish and naive.

Now I will start 由 defining the two 由 their origins. 吸血鬼 and wizards, because that was the question. Not Twilight 吸血鬼 或者 HP Wizards, but since that 民意调查 was under those topics I'm guessing I will talk about that later.

A vampire is simply a folkloric 或者 mythological being that feeds on the life essence of living beings. Blood as we should know. In my definition they are unholy undead beings searching for blood. Protection against these beings would be commonly holy water and garlic. In other regions the items are different, like mustard seeds in Europe.

This is just the basic knowledge of a vampire. Now reasons for wanting to be a vampire from other people's ideas were to be strong, fast, beautiful, and have an immortal life...And also find true 爱情 and be sparkly apparently. These were reasons why Meyer's vampires.

It is true 你 would have an immortal life if 你 were to be a vampire, but is that good? From my perspective I would rather choose my mortality. I understand a little why people would want to be a vampire for that reason. To live forever and not die. I mean death is something unknown and that's something most people fear, death. I think that people who choose an immortal life choose to deny death itself. If I had an immortal life I would be very sad. People around me would die. My life would be dull if I had to keep living on like that.

Also the fact that 吸血鬼 are considered to be unholy beings. Demons. Someone who answered the 问题 说 that 吸血鬼 were not monsters. Well they sure were considered monsters back then and for a long period of time 由 many people. People feared 吸血鬼 back then. They did not want a romantic relationship with one with the fear of having it drink his 或者 her blood.

I probably did 列表 a lot of negative things on why I would not be a vampire. But again I answered I wanted to be a wizard to the question. So I'll explain why I want to be a wizard.

So a wizard/witch is someone in fiction who practices magic, the supernatural. I found this this very interesting. 由 being a wizard 你 could have many things to do. Of course there are limits which I find pretty cool since that means there would be some conflict. Being too perfect just seems to dull for me sometimes.

Anyways being a wizard has it's ups and downs. I think many people should know this, the Salem witch trials. The people in that town would hold a suspected woman mostly, I suspect since that's what they say, and hold these death trials for them. Most common is throwing her down into a river seeing if she would survive 由 using her powers which proves she's a witch; 或者 if she died then she was proven she was not a witch. That was back then and people probably didn't know better.

There are two common types of magic. Black magic and white magic. Evil and good. In Harry Potter there are these two sides. There were the antagonists who used black magic and there was the protagonists who used white magic. Well not really since they had to use black magic too. So black magic was this evil thing. With it 你 could do harm to people and perhaps summon demons. White magic opposed it being a healing matter.

So there are those two things to consider for wizards. I read that 吸血鬼 were 更多 "romantic" Who says that wizards aren't? In a painting 由 Marie Spartali Stillman called "The 着魔 Garden of Messer Ansaldo, Messer uses his magic to make a 树 熊 水果 and 花 during winter to win the 心 of a married woman. I find this both amusing and romantic.

I probably have 更多 reasons but I'm a little tired from typing and going to retire for a while.

PS: Well there are somethings I forgot to address so might as well add them. Now if I were to be a Twilight vampire I would have two choices for food. Human blood 或者 animal blood. Now I choose not to be a cannibal, so human is out of the question. And 动物 never, I am not going to kill mother nature's beings just because it's an alternate for human blood. Ever since I watched things like Planet Earth I find all certain kinds of creatures to be magnificent. I will never "drink" a mountain lions blood to survive and that would not make me vegetarian. Plus if 你 were a Twilight vampire and 你 had to drink a 小狗 blood, how would 你 feel exactly? Victorious? I hope not.

It is true that Twilight 吸血鬼 have beauty, um what happened to beauty on the inside? Are looks all that matters in this modern world now? So let me ask this, is beauty going to cure AIDS, HIV, 或者 even Cancer? No it will not have any benefits.

Magicians in both reality and fiction have often studied medicine which did help people. Magic didn't always have to be wands and throwing in spells. Magic also involves the mind, spiritual things of that sort. Rituals were performed that involved magic. As mentioned before magic also involved healing. So maybe if 你 were a wizard 你 could cure someone. That would at least bring some joy in your life knowing that 你 helped someone.

There are other forms of magic too. Ever heard of tarot cards? Yup that counts as a magical practice. 占星术 was another. Point is magic branches out into many other things. Like math.
