This is for my article. Please only write about the princesses you have some sort of strong opinion about. By "other factor", I mean maybe you love a princess but you strongly believe she shouldn't be so popular, or the other way around.

Ariel: I absolutely love Ariel and she means so much to me. She shows so much determination and strength, and is willing to give up so much for one little moment of happiness. I love anyone who will sacrifice for a dream.

Snow White: She deserves to be popular so much more. People call her too nice but I find Cinderella to be much nicer. Snow White can be manipulative and sarcastic. And I hate when people hate her purely because of her voice. It's shallow.

Rapunzel: Honestly, I find Rapunzel to be the biggest Mary Sue of all the princesses, and I don't get why she's so popular.

@SnowSpirit- No..... Details of why you love/hate a princess.

Ever since i was little i've identified with Belle. We're both brunette, we both LOVE to read, we both are major daddy's girls, everyone loves us(even if we don't love them back), she doesn't want to settle for an ordinary life, and animals love her.

Snow White- I love how she is so motherly and kind. I love that she is innocent. I can relate to Snow White the most I think when it comes to motherly instincts. I love her cute little high pitched voice. I think she is very pretty with her black hair, rosy cheeks, fair skin, and rosy lips. Her story is the most heart-breaking to me. It gets me everytime I watch her movie. She is my favorite because I can relate to her the most and well, she is just so darn cute.

I realllyyy don't like Jasmine. Jasmine really annoys me with her spoiled princess act. She also talks back to her father and is completely rude to her suitors, and the thing that honestly annoys me the most is that she KEEPS FORGIVING ALADDIN. Ugh, I mean seriously! This guy lies to you so many times and you keep forgiving him!? Ugh, whatever....

Ariel is just so determined and bubbly and fun . . . I honestly wish I could loosen up and stop caring just like she does, just for a moment. She's been my favorite forever. Princesslullaby pretty much explained my POV xP

Rapunzel is such a wonderful character, it's like they took me, improved me, added magic blonde hair and threw me on the screen with a hot bamf. She's creative, smart (IMO), and realistic. I'd be freaking out like her if I EVER did something fun that I wasn't supposed to. I'd probably be that girl just staying in the tower and listening to mommy, and she proves that people like me can gain the strength to do what they want no matter what anyone says.

I wish more people would try to understand Jasmine's situation. People don't blame Rapunzel for leaving the tower, do they? No, they see it as something she should've done long ago. No matter how well cared for someone is, they can still have a strong need for freedom. Jasmine went after her freedom, and that makes her a bad person? Just because someone is rich, their life is perfect? Just because someone's pampered, they have to be content? I thought money didn't buy happiness . . .

Belle - I can relate to her so much, with being a book worm, being a brunette, being the odd one out. I love how she is not the main character/hero of the story (the Beast is, in my opinion), yet she still wins you over with her want for adventure, to have a better life and not be married off to a handsome man.

Ariel - I love her so much. I love her for her determination. She is also a flawed, realistic character. Ariel has taught me to believe in myself, never gave up, and was a source of inspiration for me as I dealt with my cerebral palsy. She will always be close to me in my heart. <3

Aurora - Boring as hell. She is just like a piece of decorated cardboard.

Rapunzel - I agree with princesslullaby; she is the biggest Mary Sue of all time. With Belle, no one likes her for herself except her father in the beginning of the movie. She has to work for her relationships, especially with the Beast. Belle also grows in the movie, becoming less condescending with other people and learns how to love people for their hearts. Everyone in her village thinks she is weird and is an outsider, and she is for her time period. Rapunzel, however, is literally perfect. She learns how to fight in her tower without actually fighting anyone. Everyone likes her the instant they meet her. She does not have an original personality; she is just a mesh of other princesses. The only flaw I can see is that she is ignorant and believes what Gothel told her, but that was only because she was trapped in a tower. If she wasn't, she would be normal person. Her bipolarness isn't even considered a flaw either. So yeah, Rapunzel = epic fail.

The only princess I'm wildly passionate about is Belle, even though she isn't my favorite princess. I think she is so likeable, so intelligent, so well-developed, and quite possiby, the only truly extraordinary princess Disney has ever made.
The princess I dislike most is Jasmine. She is so pampered, so spoiled, and so generally vile that I can barely watch Aladdin without wanting to turn it off.

I suppose I can talk about my top 3 and Belle because those are the ones I have the strongest opinion of

Ariel I LOVE HER she's amazing she has the most flaws of all the disney princess which is why I love her. She's brave, smart, sweet, heroic, irresponsible, immature, clumsy, a little bit forgetful, a dreamer, determind, ambitious, funloving, and is loyal to her true loves she was willing to do anything for love. She's not spoiled of selfish either I don't see how because we see in the sequel she does do chores so she's not spoiled at all, and just because she leaves her life for a guy doesn't mean she's selfish I mean her life stinks. Even though she lived in a wonderful place she has friends who didn't understand her and a violent scary father call me crazy but that's plenty of good reason to run away from home. Whenever I'm afriad that I can't do something I just think of Ariel and she makes me feel confident and determind because if she can get her happy ending after all she went threw I can do whatever I set my mind to. I don't see why people think she's stupid and naive just because she went to Ursula she knows she's evil and knows the risk she's just brave enough to take a chance for love that doesn't make her stupid or naive she's determind and ambitious.

Rapunzel I don't see why people think she's a Mary Sue, she's not perfect people she has her flaws. She's immature, clumsy, bipolar, gulible, nervous, sometimes just babbles because she's afraid to say what's on her mind to Gothel, and for 18 years was too chicken to go outside. But she does have her good point too she's smart, sweet, caring, brave, heroic, loves animals, funloving, and talented. The reason she seems so perfect is because she's had plenty of time to learn things I mean come on 18 years nothing else to do but that.

Jasmine I don't see her as selfish, spoiled, and rude at all. So she's like that for a good reason she's never been aloud to do a thing on her own, she's never been outside the palace wall so she has ZIPO freedom, and her only friend is a tiger. So what if she ran away? I don't blame her because her life was horrible plus she was being forced to get married I mean come on. Who on earth wants to marry someone for money and power and not love? Whoever does your a complete idiot you stupid gold digger. Anyway Jasmine had perfectly good reasons acting as she did.

Belle just one thing. WHY DO PEOPLE LOVE HER SO MUCH? SHE'S TOO PERFECT! WHY DO PEOPLE THINK RAPUNZEL IS A MARY SUE? BELLE IS THE ONE WHO'S THE MARTY SUE!

oh thanks a lot guys really !
okay ! agreed with you all about Ariel xD

Rapunzel, i love her, i think she a GREAT add to the DPs, i love her personality and the way she handle things, she's funny without knowing it, kinda naive, but absolutely adorable. i don't think she's a Mary Sue AT ALL, she has a LOT of flaws, and can really be pain in the butt, i just think that people now are SO IN LOVE with Tangled that they love Punz based on it, IMO Tangled is a HUGE success compared to PatF, so no i don't think she's a Mary Sue.

and i pretty much agree with KataraLover, about Ariel, Jase and Punz.

Anyways, I love Aurora. She sweet, a hopeless romantic, a bit of a flirt, and even those she does cry about not seeing Phillip and that her whole life was a lie, she goes with the fairies because she known the fairies a lot longer, and for the sake her people as well.

Aurora - I find Aurora really underrated. People always talk about how boring and weak she is, which I get really sick of. I think Aurora's really wonderful. She has this angelic vibe to her, and she's so princessy and cute. Her scenes in the woods are really soothing; she's a breath of fresh air. I hate when people judge her for crying about Phillip, "You just met him! Stop crying!" Dude, it's a DISNEY MOVIE. Ariel never spoke to Eric when she said that she loved him; he didn't even know that she existed. I just think that when people criticize Aurora for her reaction to losing Phillip is really hypocritical.

I'm going to end up writing loads and you'll have to slap me to get me to shut up.

Rapunzel is my favourite princess because I absolutely ADORE her. She's so freaking adorable! She tries to get on well with everyone and she's so sweet and caring. D'aw, I just want to grab her and give her a big cuddle. Sure, she's perfect. But it's a goddamn Disney movie, people - who cares? She's still fun and interesting and manages to grasp the audience. Unlike other characters, Punz is perfect but she's also likeable. In fact, she's loveable. I just can't watch Tangled without wanting everything to go right for her - she has the Ariel factor!

I can't not mention Pocahontas. She tends to get a lot of hate - people call her boring and dull. Seriously, she jumps off fucking cliffs! And there is no way she loses her personality when Smithy comes into her life - did everyone else miss Colours of the Wind? She teaches him about nature by cuddling wild animals, flying down waterfalls, and standing on mountains with birds of prey. Oh no, that's not fun or interesting at all! She's such an amazing person and she always tries to do what's right for both her and for other people. I think she's super sweet and a really strong-minded personality. She don't take none of your bullshit.

Well, you said dislike, so I'm going to go ahead and say it. I really hate Belle, in case you hadn't got that by now. I just don't like a single thing about her. She reads, big whoop. The town has a hugeass bookstore that's practically giving them away, of course she reads. Belle really badly grinds on my nerves. She's perfect, and not in a good way. She has a wonderful life with a caring father and a hot guy willing to give her everything in exchange for being his wife. But she can't even turn him down politely - she throws him out and humiliates him in front of everyone! I know he's not the nicest person ever but he deserves SOME kindness. He's laying his feelings on the line for you, woman. And then there's her whiney desire for adventure. Oh boohoo, your life is stable and devoid of danger. Many of the other princesses would KILL to have a normal free life like that! She complains that she can't leave her father? SHE JUST LET HIM GO TO AN INVENTOR'S FAIR THAT'S GOD KNOWS HOW MANY MILES AWAY! She could get on a horse, see the world, and if adventure's not for her then she still has a loving home to return to - SO SHE SITS THERE AND WHINES ABOUT IT? Ugh! I can't stand her.

mulan- how can you not like her? she's brave, smart, independent, stong, mature, funny...i love everything about her, she has so many qualities that i can relate to... =)

snow and tiana- i feel sorry about them, especially tiana. they deserve more love, cause they have a wonderfull personality.tiana is very responsible and harworking, while snow is very kind, lovely, funny and sarcastic.

belle and ariel-i don't understand the big deal with ariel and belle. they're highly overrated. sure, belle has many qualities but she just doesn't stand out for me. and ariel is definelty the most flawed disney heroine:irresponsible, spoiled, immature, annoying, selfish, dumb, and makes very stupid decisions. i hate when people say they love her because she's a mermaid.yeah, being a mermaid is cool but that's a stupid reason to love ariel. you can be a mermaid BUT at the same time, have an awful personality. and that's how i see ariel

Cinderella- She is the ultimate epitome of a Princess. She embodies all of the characterisitics one should have. Of course I'm just a tad bit biased because she's been my favorite since childhood, but still!

Aurora- She can sing and dance, and is full of grace, but that's it. She just doesn't "do" much of anything. No offense, but she puts me into a deep slumber.

Tiana- I really like Tiana, she just doesn't fit the whole "Princess-y" mold to me; although it is refreshing to have such a hardworking Princess. I just don't see her in the same category as all of the others.

Tiana
-I'm still trying to find way to put her higher on my list. She is really refreshing. Compared to other princesses, she doesn't bother through 5 songs about wanting something, somewhere, somehow. She's straightforward, doing everything to achieve her dream and I think it's very admirable.

Pocahontas
-Seriously, she had potential to be my favorite princess, but Disney messed up. I agree she doesn't lose personality when John Smith arrives, she wasn't really funny and extraordinary before he came. She is supposed to be smart, but seriously, why then it takes her half hour of staring into the compass before she figures she should save John from dying. It's not rocket science. Also her conversation with John Smith it's plain dull "You have the most unusual name, John Smith" wtf. Oh, and one more thing, she isn't funny. They tried to make her funny, and sure she jumped from a cliff, but that doesn't make it up for the rest of the movie where she stares, walks around and poses on the cliff.

Mulan
-I really don't know what to write about her that won't sound cliche. I guess what I love about her that she is so insecure, her real personality is repressed because of the society, but yet, she finds the strength to break all the rules, all traditions, to risk to be very likely killed, because of her father. That's very selfless and brave. Also she is incredibly smart. She comes up with an idea in minute, in really stressful situations, and all of her plans work.

Rapunzel
There's just not much to like about her. She's very bland, Disney failed to make her interesting. she's just girl who wants to see the lanterns. Seriously, I can't think of nothing that is characteristic for her. She is like this cake, which is so sweet, that I can't bear to eat it, so I have to throw it in the garbage.

Cinderella
She is the perfect main character. She is the mix of lady and strong woman. Her personality is very subtle, she's not super-brave, she's not crazy genius, she is not hilarious, but still she is has something of all of this, and that makes her awesome.

Belle
I love everything about Belle. She's a dreamer, she's elegant and sweet. I really respect her for trading her freedom for her father - having in mind she valued freedom so much only shows what a strong character she is, and how much she cares about her father (unlike other DP heroines, like Ariel and Jasmine). She's not naive and what I admire about her is that she is a strong and progressive young woman, much ahead of her time.

Snow White
She deserves so much more love than she actually gets. She's adorable, sweet and pure. Even though she must have been treated horribly while she was living with the Queen, Snow White still managed to remain cheerful and extremely nice. And it's not true she doesn't have a personality, her hard life shown otherwise...

Ariel
For years Ariel was my favorite princess. I adored her. But in the recent years she really lost her charm for me. Now I see her as a spoiled and not easily content character, who's full of flaws. I understand that Disney tried to make her easy to relate to. However I am starting to wonder is that really necessary. I mean this is a fairytale, it's not supposed to be based on real facts. And since there isn't really an underwater kingdom, and fish don't talk, then why should they make her similar to the typical teenager? I hate that she never cared much for her family and friends (she didn't go to Sebastian's concert even though she knew how important was this to him; also she just ran away from her family in order to chase after some guy...) Ariel is really selfish, and I don't find her amusing.
