I just like her, okay? I like mermaids and I like redheads and I like her movie and I like her songs and I relate to her. There could be a mermaid who goes around enslaving and torturing fish and I'd probably still like her.

No, I actually find that really cool! XD Ariel is my second favorite overall, but I find her to be the 8th prettiest, the 7th smartest, and easily the most selfish princess. You love her because of her great characterization, personality, and flaws, and for that, I salute you. XD

Nope, she's my favorite too, as you know. The reason I love her is because she's so flawed- she's incredibly realistic and relatable because of that. I love her goofiness, her fun personality, her determination, and the fact that nothing can stop her from getting what she wants, combined with her bad decisions. If she didn't make bad decisions and have flaws she's be low on my list. Look at Jasmine! Jasmine is selfish and spoiled as well...and she's my 3rd favorite. It all depends on personality. Tiana has wonderful characteristics and has great qualities, and she's low on my list (#8). Mulan has excellent qualities and is a GREAT role model, and she's low on my list too (#7). I go by personality, not by actions.

Let's be honest, flawed characters are often more interesting than near perfect ones.

No... in fact, Ariel is my 3rd favorite, but she's also my least pretty, my most selfish, least smart, and least admirable princess. So yes, I see where you're coming from =).
