I HATED Ariel's personality in the second one- she was almost as bad as her dad (some might even say she's worse; she kept the secret from Melody for over a decade!)

The third one was almost the same as the first if you ask me.

^^Me too, just not Ariel's "Imma go be dumb and restricting like my dad" attitude with Melody. Because that tactic worked SO well the first time.

I don't see a difference in her personality in the third movie.

Um, I disagree with all the people saying she sucked in the second one. It was different than with her father because there was a dangerous threat in the ocean trying to kidnap her baby.

I like the second movie but her personality WAS RUINED I like Melody and all but ARIEL'S PERSONALITY WAS MASACURED I love the third it's much better though for some reason some people on fanpop think Arista is prettier than her but my friends here where I live they say "She's pretty but not prettier than Ariel" but I'm not gonna start I always wondered about Ariel's mother the third is definatly one of my favorite disney sequels

@dweeb: But Arile could've told Melody about it- I'm pretty sure that if she knew a lunatic was after her, she'd understand the problem and stay away from the ocean like her mom asked. Or they could've come up with a compromise. Anything's better than keeping the fact that you were once a mermaid from your confused, sea-loving child. I could never keep that secret.

Anyway, TLM 1 Ariel beats the others. The TLM 3 Ariel is missing her curiosity for human things, which to me is a huge part of her character. She does have her determination, but it is not quite the same. TLM 2 Ariel is terrible.

She has issues to be reckless and accidentally bring her and her kingdom in danger, but in the sequel she's being much more worse. She's not a good parent for Melody. Her in prequel is so-so. At least I like her in half of the first movie as a mermaid.
