^ Goals depend on values, don't they? I am not idealizing herself and being awared about her strenghs, weaknesses and abilities.

I mean they all are to me except aurora and snow because their movies don't call for it

@Adelital: Thanks for clarifying. Mulan doesn't idealize herself, and probably is the best example of being the most honest about her values in the whole DP lineup. However, every princess has values and goals.

And Pocahontas, I think the others actually tend to be more pessimistic about their situation (like Mulan and Tiana), making it seem like honesty, but it probably isn't. Then there are the princesses that just kid themselves like Belle and Ariel. There's also princesses that just ignore are the serious shit they're going through like Snow White and Cinderella. So I'd say the only princesses really aware of their capability and assessing their situation practically is Rapunzel and Pocahontas.

I feel like she's always honest with herself, and that's half her problem - she recognises what it is that she wants, but is uncertain whether it is right. Classic example is Just Around the Riverbend.

I don't know about Mulan, it did take her a while to recognise that a large part of her reason for joining the army was to prove her own worth.

and Rapunzel. I think Mulan knows her situation, accepts her flaws openly and stays true to her values. Same with Rapunzel.
