I think plus-size is very dangerous and fat people always make fun of petite-sized women like me. So they do not deserve representation if they are bullying.

I think its more of having an average size representation. Going towards plus-sized is okay. Not all plus-sized women are fat. Marilyn Monroe was a size 16 and size 18 is considered plus-sized. It all depends on how its done. I think bigger girls need representation too.

I agree with Starfox2000, almost all the plus-sized people I know are sweet and genteel, and really nice people. The one who wasn't was because she was being bullied and had a horrible home life. I know many plus-sized girls who were bulled for their weight by skinny girls. So I think it is a two way street.

Depends actually. Plus-sized girls (in this term, they are chubbier) are okay for me, but not the obesity one (like in the picture of Jasmine here).

Ugh, polls like this one are the reason why I stopped coming in fanpop. Fat is NOT ugly, but our stupid narrow-minded society has made you think it is.

And it is sooo inaccurate to say that skinny girls get the same amount of bullying as fat girls do!! Also, each person's metabolism is different, so you can't even say fat is not healthy, because there are many plus-sized people who are perfectly healthy.

Besides, since when did it become necessary for a Disney princess to be beautiful? I thought y'all cared for the princesses' inner beauty and that's why we're in this club analyzing their personalities and actions, so what the hell does "too ugly to be a princess" mean??

I don't particularly think that plus size=ugly.
On the other hand, I think that Disney Princessses are a little more diverse shape-wise than they get credit for.
Snow White is short, not notably skinny, and small small chested. Pocahontas is tall, athletic and curvy. Mulan is athletic, but thin and small chested. Tiana has wide his, etc. Most look just fine, and they ARE drawings after all...
But I wouldn't mind seeing more body types.
^Also, ALY!!!

I feel like there are many narrow-minded people here on Fanpop, which is pretty disappointing. Plus-size doesn't always mean obese. In many places/for different stores, sizes 12 and up are considered plus. I range anywhere from a 10 to 12.

Sizes and weight are different for everyone. For example: link

This is not a healthy lifestyle to promote and anyway, princesses are classically beautiful. They are not meant to be fat like Moana.

Except Disney is not meant to be realistic and Moana sticks out amongst the heroines. There is a reason she is not popular and her movie was not a Frozen or Zootopia level success. Even her merchandise did not sell.

Except this isn’t the first time Disney designed animated characters with realistic bodies and I think it’s disgusting you’re suggesting that Moana didn’t do as well as Frozen just because she’s not pencil thin like Pocahontas or Jasmine or Ariel

^That. Also you can't say Moana had an "unhealthy lifestyle." She is one of the most active Disney girls.
She's fit, muscular.

I don't know what to say when I read the comment that Moana has unhealthy lifestyle although in fact she's one of the most physically active Disney heroines.

Also, shaming a fictional character to her body just reflect that you'd did the same with peoples in real life. And it's very disgusting -_-

^Yes and, news flash; just because you're not thin doesn't mean you have an unhealthy lifestyle. My husband works out and eats healthy but he barely loses any weight. Moana has shown the audience several times how active she is so in what way is she "unhealthy"? because of that one scene she eats pork? Or because she's not pencil thin?

I have one more thing to say and after that I’m done with this awful poll:

I think it’s disgusting and horrible the way fat people are treated in real life and in movies and shows and other stuff. People say fat people promote an unhealthy lifestyle just because of how they look but nobody bothers to know the facts about them. As I’ve mentioned before my husband is a big guy but he works out and eats healthy and he has a hard time losing weight. I’ve seen characters in cartoons and live action stuff eating a bunch of unhealthy food and never see them working out but no one ever says anything because they’re thin.

It is not hard to draw a fat person as beautiful, people just make excuses by drawing stupid pictures the way whoever drew jasmine like that. There’s a cartoon show I love to watch called Steven Universe and there’s characters of all shapes and sizes, one of them is a tall and chubby woman who has a beautiful voice, is gentle and sweet, and she’s beautiful. There’s people in real life who aren’t thin but are still beautiful just like there’s people who are thin and aren’t that beautiful.

Stop making stupid excuses to justify your fat phobia

^ This. You're so right about Steven Universe, I dare someone to look at a picture of Rose and tell me she's not absolutely beautiful.

And yeah I hate how people try to conceal their fat phobia by being like "oh I'm just concerned for their health" or "they're not good role models!", as if right now girls look at all these skinny women in television and think "Oh wow they're so healthy and active, I have to eat more fruits and start putting exercise to my daily routine in order to improve my health and ensure my overall well-being!" That's bull, girls just feel bad about how they look and hate themselves for dumb reasons.

The Frozen sisters have a thing for chocolate so we might as well call them bad role models right

^^Completely agree with what BB2010 and 324anna said. These statements about fat people have unhealthy lifestyle and the skinny people have more healthy lifestyle aren't always true at all and most of the time, they are bs. It depends to your body's metabolism as well. There are some people that I've met in real life that are plus-sized, although they have healthy lifestyle such as eat fruits and vegetables, and works out. Also especially that in fact, there are a lot of skinny people who are actually underweight and suffering from eating disorders such as anorexic and bulimia, which definitely prove that skinny people aren't always as health as the society promotes them to be.

Those people with fatphobia are nothing more than a bunch of close-minded, desperate and pathetic people that just have the hard time to love themselves no matter how they look like, and use the stereotype that "fat peoples just promoted unhealthy lifestyle" as an excuse for justify their action for shaming other people for their body. See, how disgusting this poll is until I didn't even want to ruin my fanpop poll history with vote for this poll.

But in fact we will always met that kind of person in real life. Sad but true, really.

My struggle is in gaining weight, so you clearly know shit. Hell! There was a time during college where I had to wear a belt to wear a size small pair of jeans. So, how about doing us all a favor and wiring that plus-sized mouth of yours shut and cut off your fingers so you can never type again? Great! Thanks! You're a doll for doing this favor to the world! Bye-bye!

Well, I've never heard of someone as braindead as you and here you are to prove that anything is possible, including your pure stupidity. Trust me, people struggle to gain weight a lot. It's called a high metabolism, among other things. And if you think insulting me will hurt me, you're gonna have to do better than that. And I'd rather you had no mouth at all, as well as no fingers. Could you be a dear and make that happen?

Moana isn't curvy, her body is literally still developing. Just say thick.

Also, it's nice to know we have people like 324anna here to explain our experiences to us. Have you been bullied for being skinny? Then you don't get to decide how bad it is. Do I tell jocks they can't be bullied as bad as nerds just because I personally haven't seen it? No. Invalidating people's experiences with body shaming is gross. I grew up during the big anorexia panic of the 2010s and yes, people were absolutely disgusting to thin women (as long they weren't large chested anyway, since apparently you can be skeletal but be called healthy if you have a big cup size. Eye roll).

Also, mrsmak- none of these are SU's socks.
