Mary Costa's voice acting, while still good, is kind of on the bland and dull side. Anika, on the other hand, is so full of life and IS Tiana! I prefer Mary as a singer to a speaking voice actress. Anika is phenomenal at both!

I love Aurora's voice, singing and speaking. I thought Aurora's voice perfectly matched her graceful and poised personality. I love her soft, feminine and demure voice. Though she didn't have many lines, I thought she did an amazing job speaking to the fairies and the prince (especially with the prince where she sounds shy and nervous).

I think Mary's voice was so sweet and silky (don't ask) in Sleeping Beauty, but I think Anika is a better actress.
Her (speaking) voice is 'melodic' , but it expresses emotion as well.
