I think they do.

They have similar demeanors. Behavior-wise, they're a lot alike, but when you think about it, they're pretty different.

Cinderella doesn't have as much personality as Belle.

They are both caring, witty, courageous day dreamers who try to be polite while still defending themselves. They take action when necessary. They have close relationships to their fathers.

Why does Belle have more? both have flaws and good traits (but both are also idealized). and even if she didn't, that doesn't mean they can't be similar.

anyway yes, definitely. which is weird considering I love Cindy and Belle has always been one of my least favorites, but every personality trait I like about Cindy that Belle shares, I like in Belle too.

I agree with this:
link they're both classy, wise, dreamy but very grounded (though admittedly Cinderella is less dreamy), loyal, passive aggressive, not bold about standing up for themselves. The biggest differences are Cinderella keeps her temper, is more humble (probably from her abuse), and Belle has the privilege of being able to voice her opinions, stand up for herself and pursue her dreams without consequences. Which an alarming amount of people lacking common sense or knowledge in women's history confuse with Cinderella being a doormat, when in reality Cinderella is historically accurate, and Belle is a politically correct, anachronistic (somewhat) self-insert.

I also totally agree with Ahhyucks' comment. Belle is seen as proactive and Cinderella so passive when it's the other way around (not that being passive is inherently bad).

They're both rather quiet and dreamy, sweet and polite, and live a ho-hum life when they would rather have something else.

Not really.

This is my opinion. Belle is more outspoken, stands up for herself, and doesn't like being told what to do. Cinderella doesn't do any of that.
