She was technically the one who started the whole "Independent Princess" thing, Ariel was still kind of classic, even though she had more spunk and personality.

I agree with disneygirl7, although I also think Tiana contributed a lot, being the first princess of color and a princess with a whole different mindset than the others.

I say her over Belle for these reasons. She is a COMPLETE fresh air after her predecessors, there is no one like her int he lineup (serious, determind, sassy, great cook, reserved) all in one. She is the first black princess too. I can see some mixtures in the other princesses, but you can't really mix Tiana with the other princesses based off of copying personalities and looks.
