Verb
Be inspired with an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for.

That's how John Smith is. So is Pocahontas. They're just so surprised by these 2 worlds, I think that they rather are in love with the idea of being in love in such a way. Think about it; Poca doesn't take action even though that Kokoum was dead- she still secretly goes to J.S. It's not until it's thought that he will be executed does she strive to stop the war. I don't mind being in denial, to me this kind of love is just unbelievable. Yeah, sure- I'M in denial.

It always seemed more infatuation or lust to me.

I do not think it is love. They are both intrigued by one another (physically and culturally). They sneak around, and it seems like they are in love with the idea of sneaking around and doing something forbidden. If you study his they are with each other, they are always longingly looking at one another, and are always caressing other's bodies. They are so fascinated in each other and their worlds, but do not connect with one another emotionally like the other couples. I agree with everything Hajirah4 said. It is more like Infatuation-Lust than Infatuation-Love

I think all of them. In the beggining it was both infatuation and lust, but then it turned into love.
John Smith was willing to give his own life for her father, the man who was about to kill him and Pocahontas was about to be killed with him. If this isn't called love, then what's the definition of it?
I am certain I wouldn't have put my life into danger (death perhaps?) for someone, if I didn't love him.
