Definitely!

Pocahontas was not essentialy against falling in love or objected to the established traditions including the idea of marriage at it's core and man being a protector, however, she proved by her actions that she doesn't need anyone to dictate her life nor did she let John Smith or even Rolfe in the sequel take any single decision for her, ultimately remaining true to herself, her people and her culture.

For sure.

She's definitely not the most independent, but she came to my mind first.
