So...I begin this 由 saying that I am an adult 粉丝 of Ariel. Impacted 由 The Little Mermaid from the age of 9, I am an adult collector, and I currently have Ariel ALL OVER my adult bedroom.

I commend 作者 Liz Braswell on her "nods" to the elements found in the original 1989 film that is known world over. Some passages of the book she has written made sense to me, while other parts did not. *Eric getting a tattoo was not one of my stand-out 最喜爱的 moments, and it jarred with all of the proceeding characterization 给 to him 由 the author*

I suppose, for those who didn't 爱情 Ariel's original personality--- her impulsiveness, wit, and curiosity--- "seeing Ariel now 'reigned in' 由 ponderous adult responsibilities" provides a dimension that they'll appreciate more. Ariel spends most of the entirety of this book "as 皇后乐队 of Atlantica." There. No 更多 spoilers. I, whose childhood was erected in much the same repressed household that Ariel's character "sprouted from," doesn't feel like "more was added to the character of Ariel" 由 having the mermaid "stripped of her dreams"--- and "saddled with guilt." This book focuses heavily on an Ariel who "is riddled with guilt for having wanted to be a human." 阅读 it, makes me wonder how this Ariel is really the same as the one in the 1989 film? If the 1989 film was about a strict parent (Triton) "relaxing his stranglehold on young adulthood," then this book really is about "a psychologically damaged adult mermaid" trying to "rectify problems that she did not, herself, create, but was merely 'a pawn' in, in the first place."
I don't understand the need for feminist trappings in this book, but like every 迪士尼 movie 或者 迪士尼 book these days, here the feminism is sprinkled heavily in as a 糕饼, 糖果 treat--- meant "to liven up the contents of whatever was already sweet” and "make it palatable for the newest consumers." Ariel was already a feminist character in 1989. Here in 2021, some 36 years later, she still causes a stir. There is no real need for "more feminist flourishes" on her character. Within this book, there is some lingering purulent odor, almost catering to the exact audience who has all these years "wished for Ariel to be punished" because she dared to leave the nest, and didn't want to be a mermaid in the first place.

Funnily enough, this version of Ariel LOVES her duality, and she prefers being a mermaid OVER being a human for much of the book. Talk about a 180 degree flip in identity issues. I found myself wondering how Howard Ashman would take all of this…

That being said, most of the nearly 500 pages of this book consist of very melancholy proceedings, not much helped 由 the villain's presence. As to Ursula's "goings on," this occurs only midway through the book. We only grasp how much of "a real presence and villainous" Ursula is, during the last third of the book. ( I suppose, I wish 迪士尼 had clued Liz Braswell in on the "true reason Ursula got exiled 由 Triton"--- which would have made for a far better story overall--- hence, why I picked this book up in the first place! But alas. No true reason is revealed for why Ursula originally got ostracized. Bdumptsss).
Braswell is good at moving the audience to pity over the plight of Ariel's "lost voice, her 迷失 father, and her 迷失 future with Eric." Braswell also is good at moving us to pity over the loss of Eric's "awareness" and "his agency." This premise of this book is that Eric "was stripped of his agency" just as Ariel "was stripped of her voice." This made for rather funereal proceedings as it were.
I am not exactly thrilled after 阅读 this book, and neither am I totally disappointed. The "whiff" I got, along with Max, was that "nothing really new could happen for Atlantica 或者 Eric's Kingdom even if Ursula won the game of dupes, and ruled over all." This was a let-down for me, because honestly, I was looking for why Ursula became so hell bent on revenge in situ.
Should 你 read this book as an Ursula fan? As an Ariel fan? As a 粉丝 of neither one? Sure! It won't hurt to read it. But would I recommend this as something that should find a major place on your bookshelf at home? Nope. I think it's an "okay riff" on the musical piece that already exists. This entry into the plethora of The Little Mermaid 图书 neither improves nor diminishes the original characters, and it certainly doesn't improve on the original context and plot. I became frustrated that the care-free aspect was very much annihilated. The original feel of Ariel being synonymous with "fun" and "exploration" was 迷失 to me, until the very last pages.

14. One Song - Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

I really like this song because it's so romantic but it's kinda dull compared to my other 最喜爱的 in my opinion...But I'm totally in 爱情 with the lyrics like
'One heart
Tenderly beating
Ever entreating
Constant and true'

While the Princess Party line of DVD's had the goal of accompanying 迪士尼 Princess-themed parties, the Princess Stories line has the much 更多 general purpose of serving as everyday entertainment for young girls everywhere. As a result, there's a significant dip in quality from the Party line to the Stories line. We're going to take and look and see just how bad that decline is!

DVD Content
Just like in my last review, I'll go over all of the categories of the DVD one at a time. But first, it's necessary to talk about the presentation. When 你 first pop in the disk, you're shown a young girl's...

Okay so some of 你 might have read link. At the time, it seemed to me like there was a group of very intolerant users who would only be offended if I wrote such an article. (Weird, I know, since many people write this 文章 but I still didn't want the tension 或者 drama.) Since I wasn't sure how to write a "physically beautiful" 列表 without offending anyone, I didn't write that 文章 and wrote one that I thought had better ideals: an 总体, 整体 attraction with looks, personality and demeanor combined. That being said, I do 爱情 the fairy tale versions of Princesses who were always the "most...

As I mentioned in its first part that this 文章 is for those princesses who got their wedding in original 或者 a sequel. I have re-imagined the gowns for all the princesses as honestly, I don't quite like the ones 迪士尼 has shown. The dresses lacks the effort as much as they deserve in my opinion. A princess wedding 袍, 礼服 should be thoroughly thought through and designed. Cinderella's and Mulan's are 由 far the only wedding dress that actually fits their personality the most, in my opinion.

So here's my selection of the re-imagined wedding gowns for the remaining princesses.

When I 评论 on one pick and other 粉丝 wonder why I say so, it inspires me to make an 文章 to explain 更多 in the best way. I find a lot similarities of Elsa with Periwinkle (Secret of the Wings), Ralph and Vanellope (Wreck-it Ralph), Zarina (The Pirate Fairy), and Maleficent (Maleficent).

John Lasseter's Blue and Spikey "White" Hair
John Lasseter's Blue and Spikey "White" Hair

Similarities between Periwinkle & Elsa:
- Both have ice power
- Both ice are spreading quickly like 火, 消防 (okay, not definitely Periwinkle's ice but ice from Periwinkle's place)
- Both have white hairs, 或者 whatever platinum blonde which looks...

For such a successful and expensive film, Frozen's complete lack of diversity (particularly ethnic diversity) really vexed me. 《冰雪奇缘》 has four main human characters and out of the four:
- Four are white
- Four are all apparently straight
- Three are blonde
Looking at this, 你 can tell there is very little variation in Frozen's main cast. In ethnic terms, there really is no excuse of this. 《冰雪奇缘》 needed 更多 POC.

I have heard one main argument (read: excuse) why 《冰雪奇缘》 didn't have any racially diverse characters (and no: I am not counting black background characters). Some say that Frozen...

One of the 文章 on my to do 列表 and I went with this one because I knew it wouldn't take me too long to make it. Anyway this is my personal opinion on the best 迪士尼 Princess 唱歌 voice and I have a feeling most will disagree with me but that's kind of something I'm used to.

12.Merida
 Peigi Barke
Peigi Barke
It turns out that Merida actually does sing in her movie, well sort of. Young Merida sings Noble Maiden Fair with her mother, which is a beautiful song. Now her voice is nice for a little kid but it can't compare to the other voices obviously. Also sorry to break it to 你 guys but we don't...

Forget about all of your opinions on Hans. Just for a 分钟 forget about any of his scheming 或者 backstabbing that happens later in the movie. Imagine that 你 came into to this movie not expecting a villain, 或者 at the very least expecting Elsa to be a villain. What would be the impression 你 would have of Hans?

My bet is that it would be almost the exact same as Anna's. In the first 小时 of the movie, Hans gives no implication that he is anything other than what he appears. A kind, gentlemanly, slightly awkward young man who is looking for a sense of adventure and a way to escape the overbearing...
