迪士尼公主 Article: Princess Analysis || Part 1: Elsa

Eight months ago, I started an 文章 series explaining my 总体, 整体 opinion on each princess in as much details as possible. I've decided to start over! :) Technically, we don't know if Anna and Elsa will even be included in the lineup, but like last time, I'm including them. The categories I will analyze are: original thoughts, thoughts now, beauty, wardrobe, singing/speaking voices. Also, I will be doing these in chronological order, form my least 最喜爱的 princess to my favorite!

My Original Thoughts

Most of 你 new gents and ladies weren't around to witness my blindness to the "Frozen" hype. Believe it 或者 not, my friends, I LOVED Elsa. She was everything I wanted in a princess, breaking boundaries, ice magic, that feeling of loneliness that was oh-so relatable since I had recently moved. Elsa surprisingly never managed to wiggle out of my 最佳, 返回页首 five.. until around March.

My Thoughts Now

Who knew my opinion on Elsa would take a complete 360 from 爱情 to hate? Once "Frozen" fandom took a chill pill, (even though it was a tiny one) I took a real look at the movie, especially Elsa. Rewatching the movie a few times really kicked my analyzing skills into gear. I noticed how completely boring Elsa is. Besides "Let it Go" what does she do? Oh yeah, she sends an abominable snowman on her sister :) She doesn't give a crap about the kingdom; she runs away from responsibility :) And she expected Anna to be in charge, in which she knows her sister is too naive to handle such a big job, considering she turned down Anna's plans to marry the man she just met :) [talking about stopping the winter] "I don't know how!" bitch, did ya even try? :)

One thing about Elsa that I find relatable is toward the end, when [I think] Elsa heard Hans unsheathe his sword, but didn't move. She had ruined everything, and had nothing left to give. Fits me perfectly, tbh.

Beauty

Eh, I do not even know where I am at on the Elsa beauty spectrum. Ugh, somedays I cannot handle her beautiful face; others I can't find anything gorgeous in her. Personally, pictures don't do Elsa, 或者 any other CGI 迪士尼 Princess, any justice. To see these girls in motion is where the magic happens.

Her hair, which I used to not find that attractive, I'm in 爱情 with. Unlike my past opinions, I like the braid 更多 than I do the bun. Elsa's eyes are stunning and look stunning in comparison with her skin tone. I'd have to critique on her nose and lips though. Elsa's nose is too long [especially in profile] and her lips too thin! I wish she hadn't plopped all that makeup on though. She looks better natural.

Wardrobe

Her wardrobe doesn't impress me that much. I mean, I like the ice dress 更多 than I used to, but it's still not my favorite. I 爱情 the color combination of her cape and coronation gown. I also 爱情 the little amount of skin showing. It really 《金装律师》 Elsa's entrapped life. They're both detailed, but in all honesty, I don't find it all that special.

Voices
Speaking

When it comes to the speaking voices of the DPs, Elsa's is 由 far the most controversial! 你 either hate it 或者爱情 it, there's no in between. In my opinion, it doesn't fit Elsa. She sounds too old for the part, and Idina wasn't meant to be a speaking actress. Sorry..

Singing

Idina is a powerhouse, no doubt, which makes it seem odd in comparison to her serious, plain speaking voice. Idina has so much range, it's sorta crazy. I 爱情 the intensity she brings. Personally, she gives 更多 emotion 唱歌 than she does speaking.

shanyuisboss I disagree with a lot of this article, but it is your opinion after all. :)

becidgls I think we all got obsessed with Frozen right after we saw it. It was big, and sparkly, and singy.....for me it was Anna, not Elsa, but I was hooked all the same. As time passed Elsa actually started to bother me. I got really sick of hearing about her perfection, of seeing the Anna dolls collect dust, of all of it. I think it's a bit harsh to say she was abandoning her responsibilities, she ran away out of fright and didn't think things through. It is a bit far fetched to say she didn't notice the winter, but eh, its fiction! My main problem with Elsa-and Anna, for that matter-is the lack of character development. I feel like so much of that was cut out of Frozen. Take the deleted song More Than Just a Spare, for example. The lyrics are ridiculous, they make me vomit silently, but they give us more perspective on Anna. Elsa is the perfect one, "the athlete, the poet" and she is the impulsive one, making mistake upon mistake. The pig chasing scene, too. The dressing room scene made so much more sense than just cutting it at Do You Want to Build a Snowman. You can't tell me that they never saw each other, ever. That's ridiculous. These scenes gave such depth to the characters, and all built up to Life's Too Short, my favorite Disney song as of late. That song, that song, THAT PULCHRITUDINOUS SONG! Elsa and Anna needed that. They needed a fight scene. Without the dressing room scene, we can only make the assumption that they haven't spoken, not really, for what....16+ years? With one feeling shut out and the other feeling trapped, there's bound to be conflict. I guess I'm kind of moving onto the topic of Anna now, but that song also shows a side of Anna that I love, a selfish side-with offering the gloves back and such. I think it would make her selfless sacrifice at the end of the movie all the more beautiful. Speaking of which, they could've done so much more with that scene....but back to the topic at hand. Elsa. What really saved Elsa for me (I've begun to thaw towards her (pun intended)) was Once Upon a Time. It's my favorite show and the portrayal of Elsa was perfect. It gave her the depth that she was so sorely lacking in! I definitely agree about her speaking voice, Idina just didn't fit. Singing was wonderful though.

11. Prince
The Prince from Snow White comes in last place, can't say I'm stunned. At that time, 迪士尼 animators haven't mastered drawing male characters yet so I'm guessing what's underneath isn't HD quality either. He's also quite feminine looking, petite frame with soft edges. No worries though, Snow White loves his man for his huuuuuuuge 心 :)

One of my favorite songs of all time.

Awhile ago, linkabout which Houses the Princesses would be in, and several of 你 requested that I do one about the princes as well. I’m pleased to announce that this is it!

But before I begin my analyses, it’s time for some disclaimers…

1. About the Houses. Here’s how I tend to think of the Houses of Hogwarts. (Note: I will be saying the most about Slytherin, since Slytherin is most often distorted.)

Gryffindor: values bravery, daring, bold decision-making, rule-breaking, following one’s dreams, standing up for one’s friends, and being 总体, 整体 “fun”/pleasant/courageous.

The Thirteen Princesses: Rated 由 Their Characteristics and Their Agency in Their Respective Movie

I've never done this before. And as a new user, I'm pretty sure that I'm dipping into a kind of no-man's land, here.

I primarily judge 迪士尼 princesses not 由 their looks 或者 anything, but 由 their character, and 由 their plot-lines. Some of the 迪士尼 princesses are less developed than others, in my opinion, and that might be partially due to the story/plot-line itself ( as most of 迪士尼 is adaptation-based).

Some of the characteristics of each princess I find admirable, while other traits I just find...for lack of a better term...irritating. Yeah.

I'm going to rate the 迪士尼 princesses...

Best 迪士尼 Princess Eyebrows

This is a serious article. Eyebrows frame your face so 你 need to have the right pair. I spend way too much time plucking and grooming my eyebrows so yeah, I think eyebrows are very aesthetically important. I noticed the results look a bit like my non-existent prettiest Princess 列表 with a few exceptions of course.

13. Mulan
They are Asian looking alright, with the shape. I promise I don't have anything against big eyebrows but Mulan's kind of overpower her eyes and they look a bit untamed. They are definitely not bad, just comparing to the others. Shang has nice strong arched eyebrows though....

迪士尼 Princess Voices: Worst to Best

One of the best things about 迪士尼 princess films are their princesses(obviously) and songs. As a singer, 音乐 lover, and actor, I've always paid close attention to the voices that bring these wonderful characters and songs to life. I am picky about the voices I like but can admit that no princess has a bad voice, some are just much better than others. Share your opinions.

Let me begin 由 saying that I'm ranking both 唱歌 and speaking voices and that even though she's at the bottom, I don't hate Snow White's voice. Let's be honest here, most people find her voice to be annoying....
