Alright this is 更多 of a rant than anything because "Enchanted" is one of my 最喜爱的 电影院 and I cannot believe she isn't in the line up 或者 is thought of as a 迪士尼 Princess. And I know the movie is making fun of the stereotypical princess when she meets the real world but there are so many allusions to the movie, especially The Little Mermaid in a lot of them. BUT ANYWHO let's get started.
The usual reason 迪士尼 deems a character a 迪士尼 Princess is usually because they are the heroine of the movie and have a few musical numbers where 说 heroine sings in. They also are very beautiful and set up as an 图标 where young girls can see them as role 模特 and then the corporate part of 迪士尼 can market it. They make dresses for little girls, backpacks/lunchboxes with their faces on them, and toys they'll 爱情 for a little less than a 月 and then buy a new product. 你 guys get it.
Where Giselle comes in is she fits nearly all of these categories and more! The only thing she doesn't fit is being an princess. And I don't want to say it (ok I really do) BUT HELLO NEITHER IS MULAN. I'm just sayin'. And Merida breaks nearly ALL rules as to being a "Disney" princess (No 爱情 interest, no musical numbers, being a product of PIXAR). I see no reason why Giselle shouldn't be in the lineup. And besides 迪士尼 DID market her stuff at one point. They had Giselle dresses and "Enchanted" jammies with "How Does She Know" blasting in the back. She was even in the lineup on the 迪士尼 Princess website for some time.... So... what happened?
Can someone please explain to me this madness because I understand that there are other princesses/ demigod's girlfriend that deserve to be in the lineup but aren't due to the fact that 迪士尼 can be a thorn.
