Hmmm... one term as the governor of the least populous state in the union or 30 years as a US senator? First runner up Miss Alaska with bachelors degree in journalism with a minor in political science or attorney at law? This is gonna be a tough one.

In the short time she has been in politics she got a LOT done. She knows how to stand up to her own party and change things for the better.

McCain can't pull out his classic "Is he ready to lead" question anymore.

I can't stand behind the idea of Palin at all, lets see; she's anti-gay, ant-choice...and pro-guns, that's what America needs right now...not.

I heard Sarah Palin make some ridiculously degrading comments about vegetarianism and vegetarians. Just because she clogs her arteries with moose she hunted herself doesn't mean the rest of us have to, or are less human to do so. Grrr.

She hardly has any experience. I realize that she has done a lot in the two years she's been governor, but that's just the thing. She's only been governor for two years! That pretty much destroys McCain's argument about inexperience.

Also, I pretty much disagree with her on everything. So that seals the deal. I'm 95% sure I'm 'voting' Obama/Biden.

What do you mean "been there done that"? Because Biden's someone I'd actually HEARD of before he was nominated, or because he's an old white guy and she's a young white woman? Because Biden was actually running for PRESIDENT whereas Palin didn't even know what a VP did on a day to day basis?

The candidate of change picked 36 years of "status quo." Since I have been banned for flame wars so often I'm going to agree to disagree before this gets ugly but feel free to promote Joe . I do really like the guy.

I'm having a hard time deciding. They were both very strategic choices and work for different reasons.

For the record even though I'm an Alaskan and have a lot of respect for Sara Palin, we disagree on just about every issue.

Also, moose is virtually fat free and isn't clogging any one's arteries.

Sarah palin has been a governer for about two years and has no experience but governing possibly the least populated state in all fifty.
Plus, on top of that, I believe Mccain only hired her because she's a woman, and in his small, brainless, head he believes that if you have an x chromosome your going to automatically support a woman vice president- no matter how big of an idiot she is.

I had a little too much time on my hands over labor day weekend and forgot that my logical discussion and intelectual debate have a history of getting away from me.

I so get venting. I for one should not talk politics or religion but sometimes I slip up. Since you can vent and leave it at that you seem to have a more level head than mine.

I just don't think McCain picked Palin for the right reasons. I've been over her record and her only strong point seems to be she's a woman. I think McCain is scum if that's why he picked her. I don't care about having the first female VP...if she was qualified, I say "good for her." But she's not! And I'm sick of her talking about how she stopped the "bridge to nowhere." She stopped it after months of public sentiment that it was a stupid idea. Good going, Palin, taking credit for what everyone already knew was a stupid idea.

That woman scares me. And I agree, when I first heard, all it seemed like was a political ploy to get the women's votes.

Republicans are such hypocrites! McCaine spent most of his campaign saying Obama was "Inexperienced" and now they he gets the most inexperience person he could pick as his VP. He's in his 70's! if he dies we have the most inexperienced president ever!!! All because they thought they could manipulate the Hilary voters into voting for another women. Everybody is so terrbily worried about McCain dying and being left with an inexperienced president. ummm...if Obama is elected you have an inexperienced president right off the hop? I'm confused.
