Edward sped through the trees, and soon caught a glimpse of something to his right. As he turned his focus to it he realised it was Damon. He was grinning at Edward, and then he turned his attention to what lay ahead of him. He seemed to be going faster than Edward. Annoyed, Edward put in 更多 effort but still he found himself lagging behind. Eventually, Damon dropped back and ran beside Edward with a smug look on his face. Edward rolled his eyes, and glared ahead.
“Impressive, but 你 really needn’t 显示 off,” Edward grumbled. Damon laughed. “Why are 你 following me?”
“Boredom mainly. Also, 你 interest me. I’ve never met a sparkly vampire before.”
“Would 你 quit it with the “sparkly” jokes. It’s not funny. I can’t help it,” Edward growled. Damon put his hands up in defeat.
“Sorry, I’ll stop…..twinkles,” and with that he zoomed of again as Edward lashed out with his fist. The wind carried Damon’s laughter back into Edward’s ears. He really, really hated being made a mockery of. They ran and ran until suddenly Edward had realised he had completely run past Damon. He came to an abrupt halt and spun round to see Damon crouched low to the ground. As Edward looked around, he caught sight of a lone hiker through the trees. Before he had time to say 或者 do anything, Damon had pounced. He dropped onto the unsuspecting hiker from above and sank his teeth into the soft flesh of the man’s neck. Edward heard the delicious sound of the blood being sucked from the body. He quivered with thirst. The scent of the warm, moist blood filled his nostrils, but in an angry defiance he turned on his heel and sped away. Breathing heavily, he sank on a rock about two miles from where Damon had begun to feed. The smell still lingered in his nose, making his mouth water. Suddenly Damon was standing against a 树 near him, grinning guiltily.
“Sorry about that. I was hungry. I needed a…bite to eat,” Damon 说 apologetically. Edward shook his head and shot him an angry look. “Look’s like 你 we’re tempted to 加入 me though, Ed.”
“The blood does appeal immensely, but I can’t bring myself to drink human blood. I’ve been away from it too long. And it would destroy my family’s trust in me,” Edward replied.
“You’re family? So the 吸血鬼 你 live with are ALL related to you?” Damon looked shocked.
“No, we call ourselves a family, but none of us are related by…blood. Apart from my daughter, but she’s not a fully-fledged vampire really…” Damon looked completely 迷失 as Edward spoke.
“Sorry, 你 have a daughter? How? 吸血鬼 can’t procreate, though of course we 爱情 to try…” Damon’s face was confusion and humour now.
“Erm, it’s rather difficult to explain. None of us actually KNOW how it was made possible, but somehow it was. My wife, Bella, was a human when she got pregnant with Renesmee. The pregnancy was horrible – it occurred too fast and it was destroying her from the inside. Whilst she was in labour, I turned her into a vampire,” Edward said, reminiscing about those horrific hours whilst Bella lay screaming and her stomach was sliced open. He shuddered. Damon shuddered too.
“Right…wow, 你 vampire’s are really odd… Seriously.”
“Thanks. Now, I really have to go,” Edward began.
“…Can I come with you? I’d 爱情 to meet these 老友记 of yours,” Damon 说 with a smile. Edward wanted to protest, but he knew that Damon would just tag along anyway.
“Fine…” And with that, they set off in the direction of home.

HELEN, thy beauty is to me
Like those Nicean barks of yore,
That gently, o'er a perfumed sea,
The weary way-worn wanderer bore
To his own native shore.
On desperate seas long wont to roam,
Thy hyacinth hair, thy classic face,
Thy Naiad airs have brought me home
To the glory that was Greece,
And the grandeur that was Rome.
Lo ! in yon brilliant window-niche
How statue-like I me thee stand,
The agate lamp within thy hand!
Ah, Psyche, from the regions which
Are Holy-land !
