The caravan meant she could change into her bathing suit without worry of anyone seeing her looking less than royal.

It would then be rolled into the water so she could descend into the sea without anyone catching a flash of her in her bathing suit, just like a \'proper woman\'.

Bathing machines were popular on British seasides until legal segregation of bathing areas in Britain ended in 1901 causing them to die out or made into beach huts.

Jenna was also seen filming what looked to be a dramatic drowning scene where she struggled to gasp for air.

Her head dresser Miss Skerrett, played by Nell Hudson, heads in to the water in full Victorian garb to save her.

ITV recently confirmed Victoria would be returning for another season, with Laurence Fox joining the cast as "charismatic and wayward" Foreign Secretary Lord Palmerston.

The new series will take us to 1848, which was a turbulent time for Europe and the monarchy and saw Victoria come under pressure from the government to leave London for her own safety.
