Does this look good?

It's my first attempt on doing digital art, so it's probably not all that great. I didn't give it a background bc I was lazy and what even is shading/lighting anyway?
 Does this look good?

Hmm, pretty good! If that's on Paint, then that's all the 更多 impressive, because... well, I can barely make a straight line with my 老鼠, 鼠标 without using the predefined option over there. xD

Shading/Lighting is the technique of colouring, painting (and similar stuff) which creates the effect of highlighting an image's features, 或者 giving the appearance that a part of the scene has been illuminated 由 light 或者 obscured 由 shadows... you've actually done nice shading/lighting to that character.

Keep it up! ^__^

I reccomend brushing up on anatomy and construction, and maybe doing several face studies.

Now, just because I think it looks completely elementary, doesn't mean I'm going to be a total 婊子, 子 about it, here, watch this video and do some practice.

What's wrong with the anatomy?

The hairline looks like a hat, the proportions look all wrong, everything is slightly lopsided, and 你 do realize chins aren't actually sharp, right?

its not too bad for your first attempt! i see 你 got your own style going, but i suggest looking into proportions and anatomy. For instance, necks don't necessarily curve straight into what would be the shoulders. as well as eyes should be about half way down the face. and from the eyes to the chin (which aren't normally pointed) and half way between the eyes and the chin should be the bottom of your nose!! and half way between the bottom of the nose and the chin is the where the 最佳, 返回页首 and bottom lip meet! Hairlines also arent necessarily curved either. There are widow's peaks (point hair lines ) 或者 straight hair line!! and the eyes are an eyes length apart, the inside of the eyes should meet up with the corners of the lips (in general, it can also be where the pupils would be if the face was looking straightforward), as well a the edges of the nose!

and for shading i find it really helps to pick a light 来源 and go from there instead of shading where 你 think it would be, never be afraid to use references and try to avoid shading with greyed versions of a colour. (you can find many tutorials for shading and such online!!)

but most importantly remember to keep practicing!!!

I dont mean to sound bitchy about this just a few tips and tricks that really helped me that might help you!!!!

Your suggestions were indeed very helpful! I really appreciate it. Constructive criticism helps me become a better artist afterall.

Not too bad tbh. I've seen a lot of the stuff you've 发布 before and 你 are improving each and every time, which is good!
Digital art is a little hard to adjust to when you've done mostly traditional art, but it gets easier with practice.

You've got a nice flare and your work is certainly your own, which is good. I like the direction 你 take your style.
I like the colours 你 picked as well. The skin tone seems a bit 橙子, 橙色 but it doesn't seem like 你 were going for realistic colours so it works.

One thing I would recommend is to attempt a little 更多 realism. Not all the time, but every once in a while. Learning the basics of how a real skull and face are shaped can really help to improve any artist's skills. XxKeithHarkinxX already went through a lot of that so I won't go over it too much.
Never be afraid to use references, either. There's lots to learn from looking at photographs and taking time to study them.

As for lighting and shading, those can be difficult to grasp and you've done well for your first attempt. Below I've linked a pretty good video on lighting and shading. She does digital art and her style is very cartoon-y, but she fundamentals she goes over on how light works are universal across all styles.
Again, reference never hurts to look at.

youtobe is a really great resource for learning to draw as well. There's a pretty lively community of art and drawing channels and almost all of them have tutorials, which is great because 你 get to learn all sorts of different techniques to do the same thing.

Here are some on drawing the face specifically. I would also recommend these channels for drawing tutorials on any subject matter.
There's tons of other channels and tons of other tutorials to discover, too, so 你 aren't limited to just these ones.
