. With that announcement came the news that Halestorm frontwoman Lzzy Hale guested on the bonus track “Forget About the Blame.” Fortunately, fans won’t have to wait to hear the singer’s soulful pipes grace TSO’s cinematic landscape because the song is available right now!
. The song is somber with acoustic guitars leading the way with anthemic power chords allowing for Hale’s gritty and emotional voice to deliver with the same impact that she does with Halestorm. The climax of the track is when she starts singing over the beginning of the guitar solo, seeing every aspect of the song come into play at once.
, the singer explained how everything came together, stating, “In all honesty it was a complete honor and surprise to me. It kind of came through the pipeline that they were looking for my contact, so of course I’m like, ‘Hey, what’s up?’ ‘Well, we have this great song and it’s a love song’ and, as [Paul O’Neill] put it, they wanted somebody who had ‘the whiskey dust’ in their voice. They ended up coming to me in Nashville during our last little stint of time off and cutting it, and it was awesome, just an amazing group to work with.”
The song that appears on the standard version of the album features Robin Borneman of Trans-Siberian Orchestra. After the song was recorded, O’Neill had the idea to bring in a female vocalist to round out the feeling of the song. The co-founder stated, “I needed someone to bring out the female side of it, so we decided we would have two singers sing that song for a different perspective,” adding, “Lzzy Hale has a great voice. She’s a great rocker, a lot of emotion. Robin and Lzzy, in my opinion, knocked it out of the ballpark.”
will be released on Nov. 13 through Universal Music. As usual, this season will see the band embark on an extensive tour and fans can find all of the dates at the TSO website.
