Novels-wise, does anyone feel that Damon's true self comes out naturally when he is with Bonnie, whereas when he's with Elena, I feel like he is "forcing" his personality? I just feel like he can be totally open and be himself around Bonnie without even trying. This is the problem for Delena, whether it's the novels and the TV show. Fellow DB'ers, I honestly don't believe that the Delena fanbase is as ;arge as they make themselves out to be. They keep claiming that they are 75% of the TVD 粉丝 population, but in reality, I think that they are the minority. They make themselves "seem" like the majority through their actions (constantly trying to trend Delena on Twitter, voting obsessively on 民意调查 etc). I don't think L.J. Smith was fired. I personally think that L.J. Smith quit. I think she felt incredibly overwhelmed and stifled because of the Delena fanbase, and therefore, she succumbed to the pressure and couldn't handle it. In regards to Book Bamon (and yes, even 显示 Bamon), I have always believed that while Elena certainly helped Damon on his spiritual journey, Bonnie was Damon's spiritual awakening. I mean, his wake up call to learning about 爱情 and compassion didn't just come out of nowhere. So IMO, Damon developed feelings for Elena because of Bonnie.
