Twilight's Monster $35 Mil Debut

Bigger than the latest Indiana Jones. Bigger than the biggest James Bond. That's how big Twilight was yesterday.

The $37 million vampire flick, expected to have a killer opening day, had a monster opening day, grossing an estimated $35 million, Exhibitor Relations reported. One-fifth of that gross, 或者 $7 million, came from Friday midnight screenings.

The box-office tracking firm 说 a $75 million Friday-Sunday gross was now a possibility. Going into Friday, $60 million was considered the movie's best-case scenario.

When the counting's done, Twilight's Friday take may rank as the 14th 或者 15th biggest opener of all time, having surpassed the debuts of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ($25 million) and Quantum of Solace ($27 million), to name two 最近的 blockbusters.

Bolt, the animated talking-dog movie, was curbed 由 Twilight, grossing $7 million on Friday, Exhibitor Relations said.

dragonfly_lola I am amazed,and so very happy! am so happy for twilight and Stephene Meyers and all the cast members! as in my apinion all deserve this! Seen the movie on friday,and went again on saturaday and will go again some time this coming week,the only baqd thing this last time I went a gal was on her cell phone older women in mid 40's,and text through the whole movie,my oponion{how rude} as was hard sitting next to her and she still did her texting,had asked if she mind! but still did under her coat,didn't think texting sure wasn't a tilight fan!~ so hope this coming week don;'t have his again!
