When I woke up, it was already dark. I tried to get up but noticed that I was in hospital: the bed, the drip, the equipment around me - all medical stuff so I had to be a hospital. But then Carlisle came in and I recognized the glass wall. Am I still at their house?
"How are 你 feeling?" and he started checking my blood pressure.
"I have a headache but everything else seems fine" I 说 concentrating on my sensations "How long have I been unconscious?"
"For a long time - about 7 hours. I even scanned your brain but there was nothing unusual. Did 你 ever had any head traumas?"
"No... I don't think so..." I just wanted to get out of here "So... Can I leave now?" I looked at him hopefully.
"You can leave any time 你 want, but please listen to my 建议 and stay here this night just in case. Emmett brought here your car, but it might be a little dangerous to drive right now" Just great! I wasn't afraid of them any 更多 but I didn't felt the need to stay for too long. I wished to come 首页 so I stood up and... My spinning head decided to use his advice.
"I think I'll wait for a bit" and I headed towards living room.
"So, how are the Sleeping Beauty?" the big guy - Emmett joked but before I could answer Alice turned to me looking worried
"How's your head?"
"Nothing serious. Just a "too much information" faint" I smiled and she smiled too. I noticed Jasper sitting 下一个 to her, but different from Alice he wasn't so glad I was fine. Our gazes met and he frowned.
"Maybe this is related to your shield?" Alice asked in a thoughtful voice and I shrugged. "Or maybe it is connected to Nessie?" she kept wondering.
"Alice" Jasper wasn't very satisfied with her talking too much.
"How can 你 stand him?" I asked her "He's so..." but Alice stopped me
"He's just overprotective - that's all" and she laughed.
"I would find some other words to describe him"
"Did 你 forget that I'm sitting right here?" Jasper snarled but I only laughed loudly. I was too much pissed 由 him to be scared. And when I wanted I could easily piss other people too.
"So 你 hear us talking?" I asked in sarcastic tone "I thought 你 were too busy on creating plans how to anihilate everything that's on your way" he looked at me like it would be hard to believe that someone can offend him.
"Ouch! This girl bites!" Emmett was almost rolling on the floor and laughing.
"Do 你 need anything? Water? Coffee? Are 你 hungry?" Esme suddenly came and she was nice as always.
"No, thank you, I need just some fresh air" and I went to porch. The night was cold but refreshing.
"Hmm.." I heard someone clearing her throat. "I didn't want to interrupt you..." I turned my head to see Bella.
"Yes?"
"Can I ask 你 something?"
"Sure" I wished I won't regret this later.
"I just noticed that you're not very afraid of us"
"Should I be?"
"No, it just... Not many people treats with us so, so... Normally"
"I wonder why" I spoke ironically again "Maybe it's somehow related to the place you're living?" I showed the woods. "Or the fact that 你 doesn't age? 或者 that some of 你 like threatening?"
She only laughed quietly "Can I ask 你 something else? Something really personal?"
"Try"
"When Jasper mentioned becoming one of us, 你 considered it for a while, but at the end 你 turned it down. Can I ask why? Don't get me wrong, there are some downsides of this life, but 你 don't know them and from your perspective it should look like... "
"Like being beautiful, rich and immortal?" I sugggested
"Yes" she was waiting for my answer. But I wasn't sure whether I want to answer.
"It just, I don't know how to explain" I paused "But I believe in balance - 你 have to give something in order to get. What should I sacrifice to become one of you?" she nodded and I knew that she didn't any other explanation, but I decided to tell her the true reason. "How can I accept such long and interesting existence when I'm sure I haven't deserved this one simple short human life?"
Her eyes widened but before she could ask me anything else I went back to living room. I had things in my life I didn't want to remember.
