Jacob's POV

How can she be so stupid? Why is she risking her life? Why is she torturing me? Why won't she let me get her out of this place right now? Oh, that's right, she's Bella.
"Hello Isabella," I snapped my head up when Aro 说 this. I almost forgot where we were. Great. I can't lose my focus now.
"Hello Aro," Bella 说 in a very small voice. She doesn't need to 显示 him any respect. This is going to drive me insane. Why can't she just be a normal human? Any other normal human would have ran away if they saw him standing in front of their house. Bella would rather greet the leech. Bella was still half hidden from Aro, behind me. He took a deliberate step which made him closer to Bella. I couldn't help the tremors that rolled through my body, and the heat down my back. I was on the edge. The only thing that kept me human was the knowledge that Bella was still behind me. She put her hand on my shoulder and told me to calm down.
"Calm down?" I barked sarcastically.
"Yes," she whispered.
"Calm down? Me calm down? That bloodsucker wants to suck the life out of 你 Bells! I'm not going to calm down!" I let a growl rip through my teeth after I 说 this. I was about to phase when Alice stepped in between Aro and I. I looked to Bella's face and I saw sheer horror there. She wasn't looking at me, she was looking at that pint-sized bloodsucker friend of hers. It annoyed the hell out of me that she looked 更多 worried for her than for me.
"Now, now. Neither of 你 are here to fight. Are you?" Alice 说 looking between Aro and I.
"I am," I mumbled.
"Well 你 aren't getting a fight," Alice hissed at me. I didn't say anything. I looked to see Aro looking at Bella. Pain ripped through me. But for some reason I wasn't trembling. I saw his blood red eyes. Aro looked like he was about to say something but I pulled Bella behind me. Her hands are shaking. So she is scared. Now. When it's too late to run away. And how in the world am I supposed to comfort her and attack Aro at the same time? I didn't do either. I just stood there like a moron. It felt like ages before anyone 说 anything. Aro cleared his throat, even though 吸血鬼 never have to do such a thing, to get our attention.
"Isabella Marie 天鹅 knows far too much of the vampire world," he said.
"She wouldn't tell anyone, Aro, 你 know that. 你 touched her, 你 know she has no intention of letting out our secret," Alice said. What the hell? He touched her? Alice saw the confused, and somewhat angry look on my face, so she explained.
"Aro's gift is sort of like Edward's, but different," She started,"Edward can read anyone's current thoughts, from a short distance,"Except for Bella's. But Aro, his gift is that if he touches you, he knows every single thought that ever went through your head. He even knows Bella's thoughts. And he read her mind this morning," Alice explained.
"He did? He can read my mind? Then why can't Edward?" Bella asked from behind me.
"Bella we don't know why that is," Alice 说 to her.
"Wait. Hold up a second," I 说 completely frustrated.
"Yeah?" Alice said. I ignored her and spoke to Aro.
"Did she ever once think of exposing that 吸血鬼 are real?" I asked.
"No," Aro 说 at once.
"Then why the hell are 你 still here?" I said. I wasn't capable of being polite.
"It's still a risk," Aro said.
"You know as well as she does that she won't ever expose your secret. Isn't that good enough?" I said.
"Well, we'll have to check up often to make sue she hasn't changed her mind," Aro said. His tone gave away that he was really undecided.
"How often?" I asked.
"Once every six months I suppose," he said. I sighed.
"Aro that really won't be necessary," Alice said.
"Are 你 sure?" Aro asked.
"Positive, I can see if she ever decides to expose us. Then I can stop her. But that much won't even be necessary, anyway," Alice said. "Charlie will be 首页 in two minutes," Alice added on.
"Isabella. If 你 so much as think about exposing us, 你 will be a vampire yourself. 你 understand that, right?" Aro 说 to Bella.
"Yes, I understand," Bella said.
"I must be on my way," Aro said, and then, he was gone.
"I have to go! Charlie will be here soon! Bye!" Alice said, and in a flash, she was gone too. I finally turned around to look at Bella. She looked like she'd just seen a ghost.
"Bells 你 are 安全 now. You're always safe," I 说 while cradling her face in my hands. I hated to see her like this. "Come on let's get inside," I said. She nodded and robotically went to open the door. Being a lone with her right now might prove to be difficult. I'm not the best at comforting. Right when I thought this, Charlie pulled in the driveway. That is probably a lot 更多 difficult then being alone with her. That meaning, Charlie will probably think that I made her look like this. Crap.
