{Whoo, two in one day, I know! Make sure 你 read Parts One and Two before this one, thanks, NN}
Edward's voice broke through my reverie. "Bella?"
I shook my head. "Yeah?"
His face relaxed.
"You never 说 hello to me," I said.
"Hello...?" he said, confused.
I laughed at his expression, than I pulled my face up to 吻乐队(Kiss) him.
He pecked me on the lips but pulled away quickly. "You need rest, Bella."
I scowled, but lay down and let my eyelids slide shut. My dreams that night were full of shadows and illusion.
When I woke he was sitting on the rocking chair instead of his usual position at my side with his arms around me. He eyed me almost warily. "Good morning." Almost before I had a chance to say anything back he flashed to my side, kissed me lightly on the forehead, and was out the window.
Shaken, I hurried down to the 厨房 to eat breakfast. I decided Edward probably wasn't going to pick me up for school that morning.
I didn't know what was up with him. Maybe he didn't get any mountain lions last weekend, I thought. Normally, that idea would have made me chuckle, but for some reason today it didn't.
Edward wasn't at school that 日 either. I didn't expect him to be, but it was uncomfortable all the same. At least Mike didn't try any 更多 advances on me today. Instead of the slog the 日 when he was hunting had been, today passed in a flash. I realized with a sinking feeling that this was probably becasue I doubted I would see him tonight. What was I going to do?
After school I wandered out to my truck to head home. My mind was on whether 或者 not Edward would be at my window.
Suddenly I heard an unexpected voice.
"Hi Bella!" chirped Alice Cullen.
"Alice! Why are 你 here? Where's Edward?"
"Calm down, Bella!" she complained as I enveloped her with a hug of Jacob-sized proportions. "I'm here because Jasper and Edward are gone, and I was bored. So I came to see you!"
I looked up sharply. "Why are they gone?"
"Oh, 你 know, trying to find them," she shrugged.
"Them??"
"Edward told you, remember? When I called him last night when he was at your place he 说 that you're the one that let him know in the first place."
"Yeah, Alistair. Why'd 你 say 'them'?"
"Alistair?!" she asked confused. "Didn't he mention the Volturi?"
"What?" I was shocked.
"They're here, that's what the killings are, surely he told you."
"He didn't say a word." My voice was shaking, not with the fear I should be feeling, but with anger.
